I really like this vest. Its lightweight and gives plenty if room to move your arms and paddle all day. The only thing i would change is the color selection. Other then that its a great product.

I purchased one of these last summer. Overall I think it is a great product for the money, good flotation and the extra large pockets in the front are a real plus. My only real complaint is the mesh will rub your neck raw if wearing a t-shirt. It fits great though and has a nice range of adjustment.

We have 3 of these vests. My husband and I each have one and I just got one for my grandson this weekend. They are very reasonable priced. I like the fact that they have zippered pockets so I have someplace to put my truck keys while I am kayaking. We went kayaking yesterday and my grandson really liked his. He said it was way cooler than his old life vest that he had outgrown. He spent as much time in the river with it on as he did in his kayak which is something he wouldn't do in his old life vest. I would definitely buy this vest again.

This is not a bad vest for paddling, tho I would think it's best for fishing or suchlike. It is not as cool as I expected, which is not as ideal for us since we do primarily warm-weather paddling. For paddling, I would want the back flotation pad higher up the back. In front you have the option to use the zipper and/or the buckles. One of the nicest things it having two decent sized pockets in front. If the pricing was more economical, I may consider bumping the rating up to an 8.
Cabela's Comfort Mesh Flotation Device is what is supposed to be. It keeps you above the water. It is neither particularly attractive nor does it have lots of extras, but it does keep you from sinking. The price isn't bad what you get either. If you want bells and whistles keep looking, if you want a relatively inexpensive life vest this may fit your bill.
I did some searching in different outdoors catalogs that I receive for a PFD to use while canoeing. I wanted one that has pockets so that I could carry small items in them. I needed one that allowed full range of motion because I use a double bladed paddle in my canoe. I also needed one that was comfortable to wear.
This PFD is hardly noticeable while I have it on. I believe I made a very good choice. I will soon be buying another one to have as a spare.
