Love it for a first paddle. But a little hard to control every paddle stroke to go straight.

This is a great board. Used it for the last 3 years with very little wear. It is stable enough that I fish and crab off of it in the Puget sound. It’s not the fastest, but it’s a great way to get out and enjoy the water. It’s super lightweight and way easier to carry down to the water from the back corner of the parking lot to the crowded beach the any of my kayaks.

I really wanted to like this board. However, after just 2 times on the water I had to return it. Let me clarify--there was nothing wrong with the board, it just didn't suit my style of paddling. My issue was the lack of a more substantial center fin/skeg. I could not get the board to track straight when going with a power stroke and, particularly, when the wind came up. At a leisure pace, with calm to no breeze, no problems. But those conditions are not the norm for my style and the water where I live. Also, while Body Glove speaks of the boards triple layer construction, it felt too flexy under foot (yes, inflated to 15 psi). I can speak of these comparisons because I own another ISUP from another manufacturer--removable center fin/skeg and more stiff on the water. Good board just not good for me.

We are new to paddling and IN LOVE with this board. Easy to carry with the backpack, and super easy to inflate and deflate, and I am not THAT fit. The durable construction is nice, think "thickest innertube ever." I don't have to worry about dinging it on a rock or dock, we just bounce off. There is a "triple layer stringer design," to make the board super rigid when it's inflated ... because remember I said it's inflatable and I carried it in the provided backpack? It comes with the adjustable aluminum paddle, super durable, and comes apart to fit into the backpack. We were super stoked that everything is included! *board, paddle, pump w/gauge, dry pouch (yay! selfies!), coil leash, repair kit. And it all fits in the EXCELLENT backpack. Get one and get outside!! Seriously, I was a big chicken and I'm almost 50. I can do this and you'll love it too!!
Extremely stable board for…
Extremely stable board for the beginner, expecially the gravitationally enhanced beginner. I am a 6'1", ~200 lb. old guy and after 1 week am able to paddle more than a mile without falling. Mostly. The deck offers excellent grip and the 36" width is as stable as any platform out there. This is probably not a high performance board, but I am in no position to determine just how far it falls short in that role. It is an excellent board to learn on. Because of the 6" thickness, taller paddlers (over 6') will benefit from a longer paddle than provided, but the package paddle is adequate for starting. The pump works well, and even as out of shape as I started the season, I was able to pump it up in under 15 minutes. Great beginner board.
I bought one of the…
I bought one of the Performer 11 SUP's lightly used and gave it the float test. The board is definitely responsive and tracked well when standing in the "sweet spot" (center). I was able to paddle into a head wind without much drag and it stayed straight when drift fishing down along a mangrove bank. The multi purpose carry handle is great and has 2 D-rings for attaching other items to the deck. The board performed best when used at the maximum inflation rating (15 PSI).
Pros: Very light Inflates quickly with a double action pump Wide deck area Maneuvers easily 6 tie downs in front and 2 in the center paddles great in the shallows with the 3 smaller fins
Cons: Fins may warp (see tip below) but do not seem to affect performance much Only one D-ring in the back/tail section
Tip: To straighten fins after unpacking, I recommend warming in the sun or use a hair dryer on low setting, then bend/massage to the proper shape. Use a cool rag or freeze pack to help stiffen fast and hold shape.
As advertised - and then some!
I picked up this board online because I am an avid reader of this site and came across the reviews and product video. I bought the board and crossed my fingers, hoping that it wasn't too good to be true - and it hasn't.
I've paddled the Performer in local lakes here in Florida and I've found it to be stable, easy to paddle and very convenient. I was hooked on getting it because I saw that you could put a water bottle in the handle, something I'd never seen before. It allows me to have it close by, between my feet when paddling, and that's made this almost worth it for just that feature.
Pumping it up is a bit of a workout but it doesn't take more than 5 or 6 minutes to inflate. I also love the fact that the fins are tough and withstand some blows. I had this board over some rocks a few times and the fins were fine afterwards.
I've even had my 10-year old son on it with me a few times and he loves it. We're thinking of getting another, as he's showing that he can handle this 11-foot board better than me!
