I purchased this kayak a while back and really enjoy it. I also have a Wilderness 'Ride 13.5 which I enjoy, but it is heavy and cumbersome to maneuver. The Bite paddles, maneuvers, and tracks well with proper paddling technique. I have read reviews of it being heavy and the seat not very comfortable. The weight is definitely manageable, I can easily lift it over my head to load/unload from the top of my camper topper of my truck. The seat is not horrible and I find it comfortable enough to be in most of the day. My wife loves that it fully reclines and she can lay out to catch some sun. Which makes the wide open unobstructed deck awesome!! Lastly, it is super stable while standing or while sitting on the edge with legs in the water. I am not a small guy either, 6ft 230 lbs. I would definitely buy another!

My friend recently purchased a Jackson bite. I tried it out for a couple of hours on a river float. It tracks well and is very stable. I love the comfortable seat and it has plenty of storage room. The only con would be that it is on the heavy side. Overall it's a great kayak if you don't mind the weight.

Bought the boat unseen confident it would be a good boat. I like the way kayak paddles and it is fairly maneuverable for a kayak this wide. There are no compartments on this kayak, which is fine by me I like an open deck without consoles etc to confine your legs. I like the large built-in handles in the front and back. They make carrying the kayak pretty easy. The seat only has one height which was fine and has multiple front to back adjustments to fit a big guy like me 6'3 with ease. My only complaint is seat. It is not contoured, but a straight bar that is quite uncomfortable on the lower back. Really, how much trouble is it to contour the seat. I can't believe Eric Jackson would approve this.

Choose the Bite for stability. Very stable and handles good. Very roomy. I am small framed so it Takes effort to get up to speed but tracks well and easy to maneuver. Very good boat!
