I've owned this canoe since May 2019 and I love everything about it. It is light weight, stable and quick. Love how they use a foam core in the bottom for rigidity and floatation. I've taken it on our family's small lake to the St. Regis Canoe Area of the Adirondacks, it is super easy to portage. I've paddled this canoe with both a single blade and double blade paddles and love how it responds. And the price is excellent for a quality boat! New/Old Town Cayuga 146

Ever since I laid eyes on the Old Town Cayuga 146 (14′ 6″) kayak I was in love. However I was just simply too fat to fit in the boat. Since then I've love over 100lbs, however by that time Old Town stopped making this boat and they are almost impossible to find used. Early in the spring of 2016 I discovered that St. Regis Canoe Outfitters of Saranac Lake, NY use them in their rental fleet and occasionally they will sell one or two. As luck would have it a Cayuga 146 complete with rudder did come available and I immediately reserved it and made my trek north.

I really like this boat and it paddles great, stows lots of gear and tracks fairly well. I gave it 4 stars only because I'm too tall and have a hard time using the foot braces and rudder. This season I'm going to try to make a few adjustments to see if that helps. I highly recommend this kayak if you can find one. I do believe Saco Bound in North Conway, NH actually might still have one or two laying around but not 100% sure.

Last September I won in a raffle a Wenonah Champlain kevlar canoe. I've used it twice since and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I love the light weight, custom graphics and its stability. Hope to do a day or two camping trip with it this year.

I just bought a used Old Town Discovery 164. This boat has been stored inside and might have seen the water a dozen times. I took it out yesterday on our lake and I was impressed. First I paddled it solo, then with my youngest son and then my wife. We love it! It is fast and tracks super but the only con is its weight. But you can't have everything... Looking forward to getting back out on the water with it.
