12'6" Touring Description

The XTERRA Touring Board cuts a different path in the water. At 12'6", this board is ideal for longer, smoother and faster rides. The pointed nose displaces water in a way that creates greater stability than a rounded, surf-shaped board. Paddleboarders will feel this benefit as better efficiency and glide on flat water, and as an easier ride on choppier conditions on the open ocean. Combining the convenience of an inflatable with the efficiency of a touring-sized board makes this the perfect choice for long outings, camping trips and cross training.

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 1/15/2021

I only used my board a handful of times over the years. I purchased it as an extra to bring a friend along. But by the time I bought it, the time to ride was harder to find and it didn't get much use.

It hasn't seemed to keep air as long as my 10' that I bought many years prior. And now, it won't last a day.

I put soap water on it to see where the whole was to patch it and it appears to be leaking at the seams everywhere. It doesn't seem fixable to me and Xterra doesn't respond to emails to help solve the problem. I understand that defects can occur, but the fact that Xterra won't respond to my emails has me never wanting to buy anything from them again (I've purchased many wetsuits from them over the years).

Here is a youtube video of the leaking seams - https://youtu.be/7wVty8leQVc

The 12' 6" touring board from Xterra is one of the best boards out there in the touring class. I have paddled several and this one sets the bar high. Some are more expensive, but you will not find a better board. Pros Very responsive design and outstanding stability.Perfect length. Stylish and highly manageable for beginner or pro. Cons None Usage Island hopping, surf play and camping.

Great all-around board that combines portability with quality construction. I have ridden hard boards and xterra's shorter inflatable and have enjoyed this board the most. Even like the mini-workout inflating with hand-pump. Pros Light, easy to transport, stable, fast. Cons Included paddle broke after moderate use. Pump broke after moderate use. Customer service is not great, though they do come around to replacing broken parts with sufficient prodding. Usage Primarily for exercise, hard paddling for cardio, but also more relaxed touring. Have used it on serene flat water and very choppy bigger lakes with a lot of high-speed boat traffic.

Great quality board, bag, pump, and paddle is good for now. I also purchased the leash which is also nice quality. The pump works well and once it gets hard to pump you can open the valve to ease the pumping to desired pressure. After trying a few other boards this one is quick and tracks well. I was able to move around and up and down without falling off. very glad I went with the Xterra 12'6" touring board. Everything fits in the bag with room for my PDF. This will also get people's attention at the lake when you glide by. I have even thrown it on the roof rack and drove to and from the lake without worries. I would have no worries about buying another one from Xterra boards. Pros - easy to pump up - very rigid when at 15psi - tracks very well on the water - breaks through waves - quick Cons - name on side starting to come off - no upgradable paddle Usage I have used it so far just for touring and practice racing. Also great to just sit around in the middle of a lake and enjoy the sun.
