Manta Ray Angler 12 XT Description

Affordability, fishing ready features and high/low seating are the name of the game with the NEW Manta Ray Angler 12 XT. This polyethylene adaptation of the thermoformed Native Watercraft Manta Ray 12 LT contains the same hull design focused on maximizing stability in a seated, paddling or sight-casting position. The Manta Ray Angler 12 XT delivers the performance, confidence and comfort necessary for a long day on the water. The cruising speed and tracking of the Manta Ray Angler 12 XT is impressive given its 33-inch beam, and its sharp bow lines slice through the water with grace in choppy conditions and open water swells. With Native Watercraft's never ending desire to improve designs and outfitting, they have taken this model to the next level of comfort, adjustability and appeal by installing a Frame Seat featuring two height positions – the lower position for paddling to and from the fishing spots and the higher position for transitioning to a standing position while casting.

I give it a 4 star only…

Submitted by: EdHorton on 6/22/2020
I give it a 4 star only because I had to re-glue the hatch hinge. - Whatever glue the manufacturer used failed after one time out. - No big deal! (Marine grade JW Weld is great!!) - Other than that, and after years of paddling cheap, sit inside, 8 footers, I love the Manta Ray 12 XT - It's the SUV of kayaks!! - Most of my paddling is saltwater (Gulf side of Florida) - Water can get choppy but I can paddle this kayak with confidence. - Very stable, with great storage capacity!! - I'm not an avid kayak fisherman (yet) - But I can pack a load on this kayak and explore the local spoil islands for a day (or more) and carry everything I need. - They were marked up at 800.00 at our local outfitter (I got two for 700 ea). - We live 5 minutes from the Gulf so it was a great investment.

My first kayak... Lived…

Submitted by: Mullin_2018 on 9/18/2018

My first kayak... Lived around the water all my life.... Have had Ski/Run-about power boat. Personal water craft , 12' fishing boat... Now i am Kayaking at 63 years young... This is one of the most enjoyable things i have ever done. I have just as much fun paddling as i do fishing out of it. This is such a great pass time..... It's so quiet and relaxing... I don't know much about paddling but i am learning.. : ) That being said i think this is a Great American Made Kayak ! It's very stable , plenty of storage , easy to paddle and get in and out of .. Oh and let's not forget the SEAT ! It's Very Comfortable with good back support... You can paddle for hour's in comfort.. I am no expert but I did notice that with a tail wind ( 5ish mph ? ) It doe's seem to push kayak a bit left / right depending on wind direction but nothing that can not be corrected with a few paddle stroke's more on one side or the other ( No Big Deal ).... In year's past I have done a bit of fresh water snorkeling and i am looking forward to trying it while kayaking.... This kayak has plenty of front storage for fin's , mask or what ever you wish to bring along ... My thank's to Native Watercraft for making such a Great Kayak !
