Remix XP10
Remix XP10 Description
The Remix XP was designed to bridge the gap between whitewater and flat, calm lakes and slow moving rivers. The XP has an integral skeg which when deployed offers superb tracking but with the skeg tucked away the XP offers the agility needed to excel on whitewater. By adding additional width to the hull Liquidlogic achieved the stability they wanted even when loaded to the gills with camping gear. Speed was achieved by extending the length and waterline of the XP and by dropping the rocker profile slightly which allows it to really cut through the flats. They added a spring loaded skeg to the stern and that annoying veer was immediately gone for good and paddling across vast sections of flatwater became a no brainer. The XP offers a dry storage compartment that is easily accessed through its large 'backcess' hatch. Easy on and off the backcess hatch is stiff, lightweight and dry. The storage compartment can easily hold a weeks worth of camping gear. If you're looking for an all around go anywhere kayak that is comfortable, safe and easy to paddle look no further than the Remix XP.

I bought the XP10 as my first boat. We kayak rivers and lakes in Western NC and the XP10 seems equally at home in both environments. With the drop skeg, it tracks well on any type of water. Although I have not loaded the boat to it’s capacity, The XP10 has plenty of dry storage and the cockpit has plenty of room.
While the XP10 is easy to paddle and get up to speed, its rounded bow plows through the water and creates a sizable wake compared to other kayaks.
The boat feels comfortable. Because I am 6’2”, I added the higher seat back to provide additional back support. My only challenge with the XP10 is foot space. I have to wedge my size 13 feet between the upper and lower hull if I want to use the foot pegs and after a couple of hours they start getting uncomfortable and I have to move my feet around.
Overall, I am very happy with my choice and would recommend the XP10 to others.
After completing the two day…
After completing the two day RJ1 class with currentadventures on the south fork of the American River I learned a few things about the XP10. It's stable and did not flip as many times as the pyranha kayaks; but it will flip, and when it does it us more difficult to upright than the more nimble pyranha's. For this reason, I'm thinking it's not a good choice for class II rapids. You absolutely must have the talent, and the kayak, to quickly roll upright when swept rapidly downstream upside down with your helment bumping rocks. Otherwise, you must escape the cockpit, pop the spray skirt and swim ashore; meanwhile your kayak and paddle are going downstream. Therefore, the lesson learned is straightforward: "Go lake kayaking in a lake kayak, go river running in a white water kayak. " A crossover does neither very well.

Love this kayak! I had concerns about it's stability, but discovered that it is very stable in lake paddling, with no tendency to roll over. In fact it is more stable than my Necky Looksha 14 (actually 15.5 ft long), a touring kayak. Even with the skeg down the nose wanders back and forth about 10-15 degrees with each paddle stroke, and it requires a little more work to maintain speed than the Necky. I have stabilizer floats in the bow space to keep the kayak afloat in case I capsize, but will soon replace those with inflatable float bags. The low back seat does not provide enough back support for my 87 year old back, so ordered a high back seat from liquidlogic. . I will eventually work up to river paddling after my kayak training sessions with River Adventures in Lotus, CA.

My favorite boat, used it on the Atlantic, Great Lakes, rivers and creeks, tracks great and very comfortable, with a fair bit of storage room
Great all around boat…
Great all around boat especially if you purchase the high seat back for the slower river and lake paddles
This kayak is very stable,…
This kayak is very stable, and tracks reasonably well for a crossover type design. The interior fits more like a whitewater boat than I expected. It is roomy, just more of a river boat with flat tracking when needed than a true crossover design that does both well. I like the boat, but it does not fit my intended use. I wish I had done a bit more up front research on the boat

After paddling other cross over kayaks I tried out a friend's xp 10, instantly noticed how much more comfortable and stable I was in it compared to my fusion. I purchased mine three yrs ago and love it, my to go boat. Confidence inspiring in the largest of water. Used in regularly on the New River in WV to make the flat's in between rapids bearable. I am paddling 9' ww canoes these days but my xp still gets used regularly. I recommend it to anyone wanting to paddle a broad range of waters.
XP10 fun
Got to demo the remix xp10 2-3years ago. Finally got around to actually purchasing a kayak and few could even compare. Bought it a little too late for summer fun but got it out on a couple lakes and had a blast. Took the wife out and she loved it. Now I may have to purchase a second kayak for her. Great kayak all around and very welcoming to beginners.

Great boat
I have bought 3 of these boats in the past several years for my wife and i They are just a all around good boat. Great for lakes, slower river. And I have had it in solid 3+ WW. My only complaint is the foot pedals. When your rolling or getting aggressive they seem to pop out of the tracks. I believe will have to purchase some heavier duty ones. Other than that they are the bomb for a all around boat.

Great product made by great people
My wife and I stopped by the Factory Store and were given a warm welcome by the LL crew before heading into the showroom to learn about kayaks. The staff member spent time learning about what type of paddling we wanted to do and then showed us a couple of boats. We decided on the Remix XP 10 due to its flexibility in moving from calm to more rugged waters. After seeing the kayaks up close we went online and made our purchase in just a few minutes. Pick up from the warehouse was very easy and they even helped load them in my car.

Perfect For What I Bought It For
Living in Florida, I wanted a boat I could use on slow moving rivers and maybe an occasional overnighter. We already have several Liquid Logic boats, and love the B.A. Outfitting. However, in all honesty, I was hesitant because I didn't like the footpegs versus a bulkhead. However, I went ahead and got the Remix XP10. My wife loves the Lime color and wants the boat**. No way! I had a LL bulkhead lying around my garage, and procured a siderail assembly from another kayak company. Took me about an hour to create a bulkhead for my Remix XP10. Now I love it. Glides, yet easy to turn, very stable, etc. Haven't tried to roll it. **I am getting my wife a Stinger XP for Christmas!!!

Nice ride!
First time in white water, couldn't have been better. Very stable and easy to maneuver. I have enjoyed using it in flat water as well, good exercise without the skeg. Thank you for a very enjoyable experience!

A Rook's view.
Let's get this straight right off the hop, I am not a pro at Kayaking. I haven't even had a lesson yet. I did grow up in Ontario, Canada, home of the ole H2O. I have spent plenty of time in canoes and rafts, but not so much anymore because I am in a dry part of Alberta where I have been working for the last 20+yrs. I went on a white water rafting trip in the mountains and realized that this was missing in my life. I did some research, and figured out what I wanted out of a boat and the Remix Xp10 was the obvious choice. It is the Swiss Army knife of Kayaks. Camping, flat water and the thrill of white water awesomeness. I am a big dude with the thighs of a NFL Running back and I find the XP has ample room for my frame. My first day trip with the XP was a 40 km trek down the Pembina River, a calm water river, with my oldest son. The Badass outfitting was extremely comfortable and makes me feel at one with the kayak. I finally got up the nerve mid summer to hit the modest white water of the North Saskatchewan river. It peeks at a low Class III at best. The kayak was very stable. I even found myself up on the secondary and felt pretty secure. I will admit I did flip it when I got blindsided by a large wave from the side. Since I did not know how to upright it, I did a wet exit with ease. Without all the technical talk of people who know much more about kayaking than I do, I found this boat turned on a dime in and out of the rapids. With the drop skeg down this thing went straight as an arrow. I have done plenty of canoe trips wishing I could have tracked that straight. I am looking forward to many adventures with this boat and eventually outfitting my 4 boys with them as they get older. Creating memories and a future generation of paddlers is going to be awesome. I am very glad I pulled the trigger on buying the Remix XP10. This is a video I made this summer trying out my boat. Enjoy.

Great Crossover
I bought my Remix used about two years ago. I had never paddled much before buying this boat and I think it was perfect for that reason. I started off on some flat water slowly progressing into whitewater and from there I couldn't get enough, every time I passed a river id have to check it out. love the boat and how well it maneuvers, rolls, and even surfs a little. The only reason this is 4/5 stars for me is the fact that the dry well actually gets water in it. Its a pain to get that water out too, seeing that there is no drain plug back there. If we added a drain plug it would be 10/5.

Bought my boat and picked it…
Meets and Super Exceeds the Expectation
Bought my boat and picked it up at the factory. The Pros: Incredibly awesome customer service. Shane answered every question I had and explained every detail about my XP10. Went on the factory tour.....what a great bunch of people and what an awesome experience. The boat tracks like a blade with the skeg down and handles rapids with amazing stability and speed with thr skeg up. The seating is more comfortable than anything I have ever been in and there is space for anything you want to put in it. Not only is this one of the best looking boats I saw on the water but it lives and out performs its own hype......Now for the Cons on this boat........I found Zero cons with the boat and zero cons with the customer service. Liquid Logic has my repeat business.

Great Boats
My wife and I each bought Remix XPs. I have the XP10 and she has the XP9. Great quality boats. Use them on flat water and white water. They are perfect for what we do. Skeg is a great feature. We picked them up at the LL factory. Smooth transaction and very helpful people.

Best Kayak EVER
Love this boat, and why not? I use it a ton on a pond and the ocean (riding the waves is a blast), and the drop down skeg makes paddling nearly effortless during family outings. Have not had this boat in the whitewater yet, but the way it handles with the skeg up, I am sure it will be a blast. HUGE drywell easily holds provisions (beer and snacks for the kids) and plenty of room for camping gear. 100% satisfied with the boat and service.

The Battleship (Xp10)
I've owned my XP10 for 5 seasons now, being a Minnesota Resident I've paddled it in all conditions in all environments and have never been let down by the boats capabilities- ever! If I had to choose only one kayak to do everything the xp10 would be my only consideration. I'm 6'5" (mostly all legs) and kayaks just don't get anymore comfortable, or stable. Initial stability is unsurpassed, you can truly stand up and piss out of it without capsizing. Really nice for all day adventures.

Remix XP10
I have gotten into recreational Kayaking in the last few years and have always enjoyed it thoroughly. Then I was introduced to some white water and fell in love. Living in Indiana we don't get a whole lot of white water opportunities but do get them in the spring on a few local rivers. This year has been a extremely rainy one so it has extended ou
r opportunities around here through the whole summer. So off the back I have gotten the opportunity to hit the rapids much more than normal and this beast has performed flawlessly. Skeg up turning wherever you want to go. Skeg down tracking straight as a arrow. But since I get limited access to white water around here I wanted a yak that would be good on both flat water and able to handle the rapids. So I got my opportunity to put the Remix to the test. Me and 4 friends went up to Grand Island in MI and was yaking out to camp for 5 days. Loading my gear up was a dream, even in more open rec style kayak's I don't think I could fit the gear that I got in the XP. The back hatch dry area worked liked a dream allowing for all of my gear except for my sleeping gear that slide right up front between the foot holds. I was a bit weary about heading out onto superior on a 10' er but when I launched and dropped the skeg I was running perfect. This trip was the true test to the crossover capability that this boat has. Huge DRY storage compartment, stable, tracks great, versiltile, and SUPER comfortable with BADASS outfitting even for a guy that is 6'2" and 250lbs!!! I would recommend this kayak to almost every user for all the benefits it comes with. GREAT JOB LIQUID LOGIC, you nailed it

Just the kayak I need
Its an very well designed boat, My only criticism is that the cockpit is a little to large and the foot braces seem a bit small and fragile. But that being said It was no problem to outfit and it handles great.

One Happy Pirate
Just finished my 27th adventure since I bought in November 2014, 14 different lakes / reservoirs in Northern NJ and am completely satisfied. Can't wait to take out on river camping trips (may need Woody's Grand Canyon log to aid and abet). Easy to fish from, get in and out and maneuver. Glad the company is doing well and that I got to support an American business. I only need either more padding in the seat or my ass but that is my fault because I regularly spend 7-10 hours when I go pillaging.

Remix XP 10. Smooth ride, quick delivery, looks BA!
Easy ride, looks awesome, love the XP 10 so far! Received my order in Indiana in 48 hours! I watched as many videos I could find, but being a a novice would have liked to have more information on set up, accessories, etc. However, I was able to stop by the store on my way to SC and was graciously helped out by employee (Coby?) with all my repetitive questioning. ;) Thank you!

Great crossover kayak. I use…
No regrets!
After deciding to start into the world of kayaking, I did a ton of research. What is a good boat for rivers, but also decent on flat water? I wanted something I could comfortably sit a day trip in and have enough space to pack food and supplies but have it stay dry in case my inexperience caused some upside down travel. After looking over different brands, different crossovers, and trying different models, I settled on the Remix XP10. Having been out on the lake with my wife in a touring boat and with friends on various local rivers, I couldn't be happier with my decision. The Bad Ass Outfitting is very comfortable for long trips and easy to adjust. There's plenty of room for any gear I need. As a beginner, stability is a big factor, and I feel very comfortable as I learn to navigate and develop my skills. I often find myself the sole person upright in my group of paddlers after going down various rapids. Several of the group have tried it out and have all commented on the comfort and ease of use. It handles well on the stretches of flat water for slower rivers and the skeg makes a huge difference for helping us new folks stay tracking straight. We picked mine up at the factory. While we missed the Friday tour, the staff was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable about any questions. If you're close enough, go pick it up and meet the LiquidLogic crew. A+ kayak and A+ company. If they ever make a boat styled more to touring, they'll have all my business, gladly.

great for big guys
I just received my xp10 the other day and i was worried i would not feel comfortable. Im 5'11" 275 and i fit very comfortably. i took it out for a 2 hour paddle and it was very smooth.. Im new to whitewater (my first WW boat). I started practicing rolling and felt like i was in great control of the yak.. My buddy jumped in it and rolled it a few times and told me it was very very easy to roll so i cant wait to try.. My buddy is now considering buying purchasing a flying squirrel because the seat was so comfortable. i would 100% recommending this yak to anyone looking for a crossover. I will review again after I run a few WW rivers

Exceeded my expectations
The LiquidLogic Remix XP10 is a very well made kayak that has exceeded my expectations. Handles great and the outfitting is top notch. Couldn't be happier. Ben in customer service made the whole process flow smoothly when I had a special request.

Great All Around Yak
Great stability and tracking. First trip on the water was down a fast moving large creek. 3 of us went and I was the only one not to go in the water. The drop down skeg is a perfect design. I am a bigger guy 6' 240lbs and I think I may invest in the higher seat back. Also a spray skirt. Aside from that I am completely satisfied.

Incredible!
I had myself hyped up for a while for this kayak, so saying I had high expectations would be an understatement. THIS KAYAK BLEW ME AWAY! I love it. The space, the mobility, the size, all perfect. I was nervous that I wouldn't fit (I'm 6'5'') But I have plenty of leg room. All in all this was an amazing purchase. The only problem I had was with the back seal. After my first day out in some small class II-III rapids I pulled my Yak out of the water to find the seal was gone. Although it was connected by a small cord, this did not hold up at all and now it's gone :( So if you purchase this kayak make sure you tie the back seal better than how it comes. Besides that this kayak is flawless. And I recommend it to anyone from beginners to the most extreme kayakers.

Great kayak for bigger people.
I love my XP10, other kayak's can't compare. This is a great boat for bigger people and at 285 lbs, it's hard to find a good quality boat to support me. Easy to maneuver and roll, this is a great kayak period.

Great kayak!
I bought an remix XP10 last spring. This was my first Kayak. After trying several brands and types I decided on the XP10. I am very happy with it. I use it primarily for flat water but look forward to progressing into whitewater. It is by far the most stable kayak I tried. The fit and finish are awesome. I have no complaints, great all-round boat.

First off the design is a hybrid. With skeg down it tracks like a dream and with it up the kayak turns on a dime. In fact it banks and turns almost too easy. It doesn't feel like a large boat making it a great whitewater kayak. It's not meant to be a creek boat but when it come to running big water you couldn't ask for better. I've paddled the everything from the easy flow of the Little River as it comes out of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the Nantahala and Ocoee rivers. I've even done some ocean kayaking just off the Outer Banks last year just as a storm was blowing in. The kayak performed like a dream.
The cargo hatch in the rear is solid tight and dry and extremely easy to get into to. The hatch leash makes sure it doesn't go floating away. The seat is comfortable, easy to adjust and locks solid where you need it. The XP-10 even has a built in water bottle holder.
Whoever designed this boat thought of everything. I own two other kayaks and the Remix XP-10 is by far my favorite boat.

A great kayak, but what do u want it for? It is a…
It is a great, sturdy, comfortable kayak but PLOWS through the water on flats; you can hear it coming a mile away! Because of this it is slow but can really move in rapids or in a flow. The deployable rudder means it tracks well and great for crossing lakes. Fishing off it is so easy as it is solid as a rock.
On moving water it is CLASS with the rudder up it will turn on a dime with little effort. Edging is second nature and its just so easy to control.
-
PROS
- Extremely comfortable & adjustable seat
- Loads of store space with hatch
- Medi-kit and bottle holder
- Deck ties
- Made of durable plastic

CONS
- SLOW ON FLATS
- plows trough flats
- hatch is EXTREMLY hard to open
- Expensive but holds its value
- hatch leaks
- Heavy
- Difficult to use a neoprene spray deck
THINGS YOU NEED

I've had my xp10 for a couple…
It's a better big water boat than creeker. Slow in the flats and on lakes it only gets slower when loaded for an overnighter. That bein' said it's still faster than most whitewater playboats. I feel its a better whitewater boat than tourer because of its lack of speed. I broke 1/2 the rudder off shoving the boat in the back of a pick up with the rudder in the down position. No worries, it still works the same. Sometimes I'll drop the rudder down when I'm surfin a hole or wave just cause I can. I do think it helps hold you straight on the features.
I like the big cockpit for climbing in and out of the boat. I use a xxxl sized (deck) skirt on it and still have to wet the skirt to get it on. The seat is nice and comfy for long paddles but the boat lacks back support. It doesn't promote an upright position for paddling whitewater, its kind of hard to sit real upright in the boat for extended periods of time. Lots of foot room, and the boat is really easy to wet exit out of.
Where the deck is high, only my knees get locked in(not my thighs) so its harder roll and puts some strain on my knees. Also the seat is wide even for me, and I weigh 220 lbs. Again this makes it harder to roll because my hips aren't locked in. The boat itself is wide so its also harder to set up to roll, having to really reach around the sides of the boat. However I think the hull shape is fine for rolling but because of the way its set up I struggle with it a bit. I have a much easier time rolling a shorter ww play boat. But like I said before this is "boating for dummies" and odds are you aren't going to flip to begin with.
The hatch leaks and I carry a cup or a sponge in it. I have to pry the lid off with a flathead screwdriver once the hatch gets wet. I carry the screwdriver in a nalgene bottle behind the seat. The drainplug works but you can never quite get all the water out of the boat with it. The boat is heavy, so i drag it a lot.
It's being marketed as a "crossover" but the Remix xp10 is a solid whitewater performer with the capacity to carry gear. It's a really "forgiving" boat that's right at home on big water. It you're wanting a solid whitewater performer that has carrying capacity and you're willing to give up speed in the flats then this is the boat for you.
We own a number of…
We've had the boats in everything from Class 3 rapids to small trout streams with awesome results. The BadAss Outfitting is very comfortable. Not accustomed to whitewater boats, we bought the after market seat backs but then realized (post-purchase, of course) that we did not need them for paddling comfort...8 hours in this boat feels like nothing. One thing to mention is that we did hold out for the 2012 model (a number of local shops were still selling 2011) as we preferred the open cockpit design behind the cup holder. Lots of storage = you could easily camp or fish from the boat.
I have always owned canoes…
After doing some research, I purchased a Remix XP10 last year and haven't second guessed my decision since. I have used it for fishing in lakes, rivers and paddled in the ocean often.I installed a rod holder and even a sonar on a few of the outings.
Some of the ocean paddling was in three to four foot waves although the of my padding is in moderate conditions and I tend to use the kayak for lakes and the ocean rather than rivers so far, however, it is nice to have the option when the opportunity comes along. I plan more river runs but this does take a bit more planning for shuttles etc. I see that class 2-3 is commonly mentioned for the Remix and even class 4, however the latter class water was not in my plans and was not part of my decision to purchase.
I am pleased with the handling of this little boat as well as the room for gear provided by the back compartment, either for a day trip or an overnighter. to be honest there was a lot of different review for different boats and there was a Dagger supplier not far from me but I decided to go online and buy from a supplier in the US as, Liquid Logic wasn't available where I live.
I am 6'1" and 210lbs and over 50 years old and where the kayak is not a speed demon, I have no problem paddling in the 4-5km/hr range for extended periods. For speeds over 5km, you will burn some extra calories to get there and you will be creating a pretty good wake on still waters.
I boat is fairly comfortable for extended periods with the Badass outfitting. One three day weekend last summer, I covered 80km in the Remix which was all lake and ocean paddling. As mentioned in previous posts, the rear compartment isn't always water tight and could be improved upon.I didn't find this to be a big problem and knew about it before my purchase.
Another plus for me was that the boat is easy to transport and store. Overall I find the boat to fit into my intended usage very well.
I'm in my second season with…
For perspective, I believe…
Before purchasing, I compared this boat to the Dagger Approach, Pyranha Fusion and the Jackson All Water and Rogue. I've owned a Prijon Yukon but that's much longer and a different animal. In my opinion, the XP 10 was the best of the lot.
It handles the frothy stuff reasonably well although I'd prefer more rocker, harder chines and lower thigh braces. I do understand that the target market is a more casual paddler. The rear compartment should be more watertight and I'd like to see the bulkhead moved forward for greater stowage and more built-in floatation.
It ferries and draws okay, but carve and spin are moderate. Surfing is just adequate. It rolls pretty easily for a wide boat. Flatwater is about what you'd expect from a wide 10' boat. That is to say, a chore. Having whitewater boats in the stable, I can paddle straight without the skeg and don't want the drag.
Liquidlogic excels in quality molding and this boat is no exception. The outfitting is way comfortable and adjustable. My biggest gripe would be the cavernous cockpit opening. I prefer more solid structure and it also creates a skirt issue. In addition to more flexible surface, it's hard to find a skirt that will fit it and is all neoprene. You can order one from Seals. Their site recommends the 2.2 size but I found this to not mate up well. I later saw that many outfitters recommend the 2.5. IR's is probably a better alternative and adds a knee strap.
No one should expect the implied panacea of a kayak that excels at all kinds of water. But, if you have the need of something that falls within the applicable niche, this would be a good choice to test out.

This was my second kayak…
I was less impressed with the XP's flatwater performance. This boat is very slow. The harder I paddle the more the bow pushes water. The bow is designed for flotation and lift not speed. Keep this in mind if you are buying this boat to use in mild conditions. Another advantage of this boat, is the stability. It has excellent initial and secondary stability. This boat can be put up on edge at any time but could also be used for fishing. Novices feel very safe in this boat. Another positive worth mentioning is the Badass outfitting. This is a very comfortable boat. I can spend many hours paddling without any discomfort. I do wish that I could adjust the seat forward and aft so I could trim the boat better for conditions. I think the 2011 models may have this feature.
I do agree with some of the other reviewers about the dry hatch. Mine has never been dry at the end of a trip even in mild water. My guess is that the skeg cable leaks but I have not attempted to fix it as I don't use the hatch.
Overall, this is a great boat for someone looking for a comfortable, great handling boat for whitewater conditions. If you are looking for speed, look elsewhere.
After purchasing a tandem I…
However the dry bulkhead is another story, its not really dry, more like drippy. I have had over a liter of water in the dry compartment and discovered that the bulkhead leaks if you get any water in the boat. so a skirt (even in hot weather) is a must.
All in all, I would not trade my boat for all the tea in china. What a hoot!!!
Since I have used this boat…
The boat performs as advertised. It is an extremely fun and versatile boat. The rear hatch and especially the drop down skeg make this boat what it is. And what is it? A really good crossover boat. A boat you can use on flat water or white water. I bought it primarily to have something to take down shallow rocky rivers and to poke around in river delta areas. It is the perfect boat for that. It is very stable, very comfortable and very easy to paddle. It is not a fast boat and not the boat for long lake journeys unless you are patient and have the time. After paddling one of my long sea kayaks, it’s a bit of an adjustment to get used to paddling this short wide slow boat. I love taking this boat down to the local delta in the early morning and photographing wildlife from it. Did I mention it was very stable? It is a wide boat but not a problem for me. A smaller person might want to look at the XP-9. Same boat but sized down a bit. For my size the XP-10 was a better choice. The XP-10 could also handle someone quite a bit larger then I am.
This boat has a very large cockpit and getting a spray skirt for it was a little tricky. I tried three different ones before settling on a rand type skirt from Immersion Research (Lucky Charm with XXL deck size). Even this was hard to get on at first but I left it on for awhile and that stretched it out enough so that it goes on relatively easy. The cockpit rim is somewhat thick and angled at the back of the cockpit and spray skirts want to pop off when trying to make the long pull along the length of the cockpit. The rand type skirt really provides the good grip to make this easier.
In summary this is a high quality, comfortable, easy to paddle, crossover boat that lives up to its advertising and is worth the ~$1000 price tag.
I have owned the Remix XP-10…
My issues with the boat stem from how LL designed the boat based on it's whitewater lineage.
1) The boat tracks straight in calm water with the skeg down. However, you'll be pushing a lot of water as you move along. This is the result of a blunt shaped bow. A more angled bow would alleviate this, but you would loose some whitewater prowess. It's a conundrum, and I agree with LL to go with the current design. Still, when I get moving on flat water, I kick up a wake and fellow paddlers can hear me coming.
2) My biggest problem has to deal with the intended purpose of the boat and it's effect spray-skirts. Without a whitewater sealed skirt, the gunwales take in a lot of water, especially ferrying across rapids. Do this too long, take in too much water and the boat become sluggish or sinks.
However, if you are using the boat recreationally to tool around the river on a hot summer's day, being enclosed in a black sprayskirt becomes VERY hot and uncomfortable. Also, being that the boat is larger, it becomes more difficult to roll. If you are a beginner, or are not physically adept to rolling - this is an issue.
The other boats in this class - Pyranha and Dagger - don't have this problem (low gunwales) to this extent. Then again, they are not as good (in quality and performance) as the Remix. The ideal solution would be to have an "open river skirt" that compensates for the low gunwales, but is open on top for easy entry and exit, and is cool enough for hot days.

These small creeks are very shallow and at this time of the year have water temps in the 70 degree range. Indian Creek drops about 30 feet in its last 2.9 miles before entering the elk. It probably averages only 50 feet wide and is littered with strainers(dead fallen trees). There are no real big drops in the creek. However there is a section that has three 2 foot falls within 450 feet.
The boat works so good that I was amazed. Lots of places on the creek you only have 6-8 feet of width to work with. The LL Remix XP-10 is great for this kind of creek. I'm not the best paddler, that's for sure. But the boat is a great kayak for many of the small tight streams in the Ozarks. If you buy one you won't be sorry. This little creek is not big whitewater, but it is very technical and things happen fast. We did the 2.9 miles in just 17 minutes. I think that's about 10 miles per hour.
Just buy one!!!
New to kayaking. Have owned…
I'm about 6'4" 230 with 36waist. Had to take the hips in 2inches on both sides. The cockpits so big if you hit your head on a rock hard enough (upside down) you can get yanked out. Rolling is easy unless your form is sloppy. Have got this boat pinned and bent in half(don't kayak tired...duh). Kicked it out with only slight visual evidence remaining. Have done class III+ with no problems. As a river runner This boat murders whitewater. As long as the paddles in the water the boat will do the rest.
Great beginner boat due to stability. The size also forces a newbie to learn proper rolling and turning. Will be getting a creek boat for the rock gardens and surfing holes.

As far as quality goes there are few that match up the design is pure art and the craftsmanship is flawless Liquidlogic really stands out with a boat like this! No I do not work for them, but do work for a sporting company that sells 7 different brands of kayaks. I have paddled a lot of different boats and the Remix XP10 gets a 10 in it's class!
