My first sit inside kayak. I…

Submitted by: paddler780203 on 5/22/2020
My first sit inside kayak. I already used it in San Francisco Bay, Tomales Bay and Lake Sonoma, California. I wanted a boat that had a larger cockpit and plenty of legroom. I am 6’ tall and a fit 224 lbs. I do day trips as well as kayak camp so I needed space to load all my camping gear, (I also backpack so I already own compact/light equipment. The kayak performed beautifully in the bay. It glides effortlessly. The seat once adjusted properly is very comfortable. The skeg definitely helped in choppy afternoon waters. I selected the yellow color as it is extremely visible. I go out alone most of the time. I wish Eddyline made the same kayak but longer, say a 16 or 17 feet. It would add space for more gear on longer trips. So far I have camped only for 3 days and I was able to bring everything I needed. Overall a fantastic kayak for larger individuals and beginners.

Eddyline Kayaks are high…

Eddyline Kayaks are high quality kayaks. If you have just tried a few friends kayaks of any brand and are looking to invest in your own Yak... take my word for it, do not buy a cheap one from your local big box store. You will only be disappointed and find that you will have wasted money in the process. I see this happen all the time in my outdoors group. Buy a high quality kayak that will hold its value for years to come.

Very stable boat

Submitted by: paddler397678 on 9/26/2017

This is my first ocean kayak. I am an intermediate paddler. Overall I love this boat. I have taken it out on very windy, choppy days on lake Michigan and even though I am not a seasoned paddler I have never capsized. Primary stability is good, and secondary stability is rock solid. This boat edge turns naturally. I love the look of this kayak. It is a beautiful boat. The keg control is fluid and easily accessible. The Denali is very well made. I love the seat. It is as comfortable as a lazy boy. My only complaint is that the seat sits up very high making reentry during rescues difficult. But, I have only capsized it purposely during training. The best feature of this boat is the abundant cockpit. I am 6'-4" 235 lbs. It fits me like an extra large glove. I still have enough contact to roll, but I am not cramped. Customer service at Eddyline is first rate. Great product!

Not for the beginner

Submitted by: Dave_Kingman on 8/21/2017

I am 6'1" 275 and had done recreational kayaks and taken several classes before buying an Eddyline's Denali. I did my research on which kayak to buy, I focused on weight capacity, cockpit width and price settling on Eddyline's Denali.

I found the Denali extremely unstable initially and after adding a ballast system (Paddling Partner) I never felt really confotable with the secondary stability after two miles, or so of paddling. This boat may be fine for someone with a lot of experience but I was VERY happy for REI's 100% satisfaction guarantee policy.

I am new to kayaking. At 6'2" 230 lbs. I don't fit in alot of kayaks. And those that do fit me are usually chain-store specials that are better suited to the weekend party crowd. They don't even compare to the Eddyline Denali. The adjustable seat and foot braces make for a very comfortable day on the water. I can stretch my legs out and just float when I want. Then brace up and take control. The cockpit is sized just right. Plenty of room, but small enough to allow me to control the kayak in any situation. The knee and thigh braces are in just the right locations. If you're looking to get into kayaking and you're a bigger person, this kayak may be just right for you too. Light weight yet very well built. Eddyline hit a home run with the Denali.

The perfect boat for me, and I'm a big guy! At 6'2, 250lb, with a 34" inseam and size 12 feet, the Denali would still fit me even if I were taller and had larger feet! The seat is adjustable by 3" fore and aft. The cockpit is large enough for me to sit in butt first and then put my legs in. The thigh braces are in just the right spot for me, so no need to modify the padding. I feel very solidly "connected" to the boat when the seat and foot braces are dialed in. My other boat is a WS Tempest 170, and it was just too small for me to really fully enjoy. My legs and feet were constantly going numb and my hamstrings would need a good stretch after only an hour or so. I was out in the Denali for 4 hours the other day and had no issues with cramping or numbness in my legs and feet. I could have easily kept going longer without issue.

The hatch covers are very heavy duty and seal very tightly. I really appreciate the day hatch right in front of the cockpit. The boat is beautiful and looks bad-ass! The materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail are superb. The customer service at Eddyline is outstanding! My time is very valuable and customer service is very easy to reach via email or a phone call. The phone number and email contact for customer service is very easy to see right at the top of the homepage. I had several questions before I purchased the Denali and all were promptly answered.

I could not be happier with my Denali and the people at Eddyline that make it! Highly recommended for people like me who are not a member of the "slim fit shirts" and "skinny jeans" crowd.

I'm 6'3", 240 lbs and I love this boat. I've owned several other yaks, and nothing has ever fit me so comfortable. Plenty of bow buoyancy, plenty of secondary stability. You have to be careful to get the seat in the right spot--mine does not want to be all the way back, which was a pleasant surprise. I can carry enough gear for multi-day trips without the boat becoming a dog. Tracks well with the skew down, and I use the skeg about 80% of the time.

Eddyline has created a kayak…

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 7/4/2015
Eddyline has created a kayak that a big man can get into. I'm 6 foot 3 inches and 285 lbs.
I demoed the Denali and found it very comfortable to sit in and was able to use for several hours.
The Denali has a high deck which allows for knee comfort and easy moving about the cockpit.
Thank you Eddyline for making a kayak that big people can use.
