I picked this kayak up on…
I picked this kayak up on Craigslist for about half off and am loving it. I also got my wife a Caribbean 12’ sit on top. The Sandpiper paddles beautifully and is relatively easy for my overweight self to get in and out of. It tracks really well and have been able to edge it to make nice turns. I’m a little overprotective of it on cement launches because of the beautiful finish. Mine is blue and gray on the bottom which seems to attract manatees. My only complaint is that there’s is no storage inside or cup holder inside. I bought a suction mount cup holder which works well with an insulated water bottle. The frame seat is really comfortable. I’m taking a Texas scramble deep water reentry class next month. I’m anxious to see how that goes with the frame seat. I deducted one star for lack of interior storage. I also prefer foot pegs that can be adjusted without having to reach down deep to my feet.
A kayak that in the end wasn't for me. this This is a big boy- like plop down onto the seat its so big and roomy. That's is part of the good and bad. If you are happy with gliding about and need the super spacious cockpit this will please you. The chair allows you to sit high and command the view and still be comfortable. My issue is the cockpit is too big. Makes bracing with your legs tiring and leads to an achy back and hip. The boat is super stable and there will be no rocking it. Very responsive to wakes and choppy water. The boat likes to play and handles well when the wind and chop gets lively. The Eddyline sprayskirt fits this like a charm and does wonders for going into more challenging water. In the end, a good rec boat with a cavernous cockpit and super stability.
I've been paddling an Eddyline Sandpiper for 5 years now and couldn't be more pleased with the product. Easy to paddle, tracks well, cuts through the water with speed and looks great. Highly durable and maintains its integrity over time. Lightweight (39 pounds) so easy to get on the water and back to car top. Excellent value for the dollar. Best kayak on the water in my opinion and I've tried several. I would highly recommend Eddyline - you can't go wrong - and they stand behind their product with excellent after purchase support.

My wife and I spent many…
My wife and I spent many hours reviewing numerous kayaks before purchasing our Eddyline Sandpiper 130’s. The time paid off well. We were looking for a quality product that would be comfortable and perform well and couldn’t be happier. We wanted a stable kayak that we could fish and photograph from without sacrificing decent performance for just paddling around and these are as close to perfect for us as anyone could find. The bonus of excellent gear storage and that removable seat has made our choice even better. We’ve been out in windy conditions with some whitecaps as well as glassy smooth water and have had a blast! For us, we couldn’t be happier!
The original kayak i looked…
The original kayak i looked at or that brought me to the in the store in first place was the Skylark. Nice kayak but it felt a little cluster phobic. Then i saw the Sandpiper 130 in seagrass color. Color looks much nicer in person to me anyway (darker). But the Sandpiper 130 caught my eye because of the features it provided. At 13 Feet it was long enough to track straight but short enough, when edging, still being responsive and maneuverable. So without getting into a small kayak for quick cornering (to me limited to my other needs) or getting into a long "sea" kayak type. This craft will fill a large niche in my type of kayaking. From creeks and Lazy Rivers, ( "Not white water of course") to calm lakes. i can use it as a quick, Float down a lazy river to a 3-4 day camping trip if so desired. It really is a cross between a tour and recreational kayak. At 28" wide makes it pretty stable, 390 lbs load capacity, you can do some light camping. It has a nice large rear dry hatch opening (18") to take on some larger dry bags for that camping gear. Both front and rear hatches have rubber sealed lids that so far have done their job. front and rear sealed bulk heads. I'm a little older paddler at 56, and love the larger cockpit to get in out of and plenty of room for my cocker spaniel which i hope to bring with me one day. Another cool feature is the removable cloud 10 seat that appears to pretty comfortable so far. Now for some negatives but by all means were not a deal breaker.... It weighs in at 49 lbs without the seat. Still manageable for me to lift it to the roof of my Jeep Cherokee. The back rest is higher than the back deck. This maybe an issue if planning on leaning back in executing an eskimo roll. Finding a good fitting spray skirt might also be a small issue, again because of the seats high back rest. i have heard of someone mentioning to use a lap skirt, a skirt that doesn't wrap all the way around the paddler. but helps with any spills coming over the bow. To sum it up, i wanted a sit in kayak to use in various types of waters and have the capabilities of loading it up when needed. Easy to move through the water. being able to cast a rod if needed, Nice open cock pit. Not too heavy of a kayak. Respond quickly. Fun to paddle and feel confidently in. Lastly, looks good in the water to as you do ...lol. My pick ... The Sandpiper 130 hit all my boxes in my check list. Hope it can for you too.
I love my Eddyline Sandpiper…
I love my Eddyline Sandpiper kayak I purchased from Osprey Bay Outdoors in Clearwater, FL. My pretty yellow kayak glides like a dream and helps me paddle fast, which is saying something for a 64 year old, less-than-fit woman with our 13 year old Pug onboard! I can even beat my hubby in his Larger Eddyline Stratofisher 130 fishing kayak! Osprey Bay is a full-service paddling store with a superb inventory of everything anybody needs to get out on the water. The super-friendly and accommodating owners lead fun paddling outings once a month to places all over the Central Gulf Coast, making it easy to get acquainted with the beauty all around us. Their Kayaking trips are great for all ages, and rentals are available for those who still haven’t sprung for their own kayak.
SandPiper 130 , Awesome Kayak…
SandPiper 130 , Awesome Kayak , Awesome Company
The Eddyline 130 is a great kayak. It’s about as perfect as you can get to if you’re looking for a kayak for Leisurely paddling time on the water but still want a kayak that will and can accelerate when you want or need to . That cloud 10 seat might be as comfortable as a lazy boy recliner and you will be tempted to plop your feet up out of the cockpit and up on the deck and take a nap . It has Ginormous amounts of cargo carrying capacity and there’s even room behind the seat . The stability is fantastic, both primary and secondary. It would take an extreme effort to flip this kayak and some smaller or weaker people may not be able to even do it. When you want to lean into a turn you can feel the secondary kick in and just hold you up even in very tight turns . It handles all kinds of chop perfectly. It rides over small / medium size waves like a fishing bobble coming from all directions, no need to steer into them anymore like in a lot of other kayaks. This kayak is very light for its size and you know the second you run your hands over it this is quality. It's a super strong , super comfortable & super safe kayak. Then there’s the people at Eddyline. They go above and beyond. One in particular ( Tom ) rewrites the meaning of customer service. He managed to arrange delivery of my custom order 130 even during a dam pandemic With all REI’S temporarily closed . Ya , he’s a badass. This is a great made in the USA product by people who know what they’re doing. I would recommend this or any Eddyline kayak to anyone interested in hitting the water with comfort , safety and your piece of mind as their priorities.

The Eddyline is new to me since July 2019. Previously I was using a heavier kayak (11lbs heavier) with different plastic composition. The Sandpiper is easy to port on to my 2016 Outback this was part of my motivation to purchase. Secondly I was looking for lighter kayak that was still very sturdy and with similar profile and large cockpit size. It is easy to get into and the profile of this kayak (plus lighter weight) makes it easy to paddle and stable in heavy sea chop with no splash over. It also surfs nicely , the weight balance seems to be just right to ride small surf. Very pleased overall.

I did a demo day at my local outfitters paddling spot on a calm lake. I tried several brands sit inside and sit on top kayaks of varied designs. I liked most of them but I fell in love with this kayak! It is very responsive- super fast up to hull speed which is pretty fast and efficient , so much I was pleasantly surprised, the cockpit is very roomy, very comfy seat, it tracks well, it's very stable
( initial and secondary stability are both excellent), it just felt right immediately- I have a fickle lower back ( chronic moderate to severe lower back pain) and the cloud 10 lawn chair style seat in a good performing kayak is a home run Eddyline!
I immediately went to my local shop and bought myself a blue over silver Eddyline Sandpiper 130.
