Trip Overview
Just a simple, short paddle of about 6-7 miles round trip. - Put in at Anclote River State Park in Tarpon Springs Florida. - Paddled south west around a few Mangrove, spoil islands out into the Gulf and proceeded south to a Mangrove kayak trail. - During most of it we had to use our hands to propel ourselves through the thick mangroves by simply pulling on branches, - It circles around back to the Gulf and open water. - There is a small area across from Fred Howard park where you can stop, get out, and stretch your legs. - The water was relatively calm but the current was stronger on the return, heading back north. - Miss Vicky's is right around the corner from Anclote River Park where you can get a cold beer and food.Safety Notes
