This kayak glides thru the water effortlessly. It tracks well without a skeg or a rudder. Kevlar is most definitely the best layup material. Kevlar is stronger, and weighs much less than other layups.
This kayak is only 10 feet and works real well in tight spaces. It's easy to turn around in small creeks. I use it primarily for Geocaching. I have paddled sea kayaks in the past and they are much faster but not turning around. Sea kayaks are for the sea! The Loon is much better in rivers and small creeks.
