Due to back surgeries, and being last when paddling with younger friends I decided I wanted a lighter kayak with less rocker and more waterline than what I already owned. I read the previous reviews about the Isle Au Haut that talked about easily loads / unloads onto a vehicle and ease of carrying it. All comments were quite true. Tracking and stability is excellent. I had tried other Lincolns and decided on this model in Kevlar Light at 38 pounds because of great fit for my body size. I am very happy with both design and quality in manufacturing the kayak.

Having read previous reviews of this kayak I had decided I wanted a shorter light kayak to compliment my Chatham 16 and Isle Au Haut. I test paddled the 12s yesterday on the Merrimack River in NH in a 10 -15 mph wind. Found it to meet previous reviews. Tracks well, great stability, and paddles like a longer boat.

Bought this boat in Carbon when it first came out. At that time I owned 3 other kayaks. I had the opportunity to demo both the fiberglass and carbon. There is a difference between the 2 and purchased the carbon.

I am 5'6" and weigh about 170lbs. The boat fits me like a glove. It's profile enables wonderful carving of turns. It's ride is incredibly stable. In some conditions I can feel my other boats flexing on the water. In this boat I feel no flex. It is not the fastest boat in the pack. However, it is a SUPER play boat. That I have thoroughly enjoyed. It's weight at 46 Lbs. also makes loading and unloading too the vehicle much easier.
