A friend gave me a set of these and I was excited to put them on and put them to use! I put them on and lined them up on my crossbars. I used them once on a slightly windy day with some recreation kayaks. The wind caught the kayaks and both bottom pieces that attach to the crossbars shattered and in-turn also broke my crossbars. I have now gone back to my swimming pool noodle and ratchet strap method. I was really hoping that these racks would be an upgrade- not so much.

I use this on my 2005 Subaru Outback and have mainly been using it to transport two recreational kayaks. It works wonderfully, easy and quick to load and unload, folds down when not in use. Furthest trip with them on top was around two hours going speeds up to 70mph and they did not budge an inch.

These towers worked great with my factory roof rack on Chev. Equinox. On and off in just minutes. Holds boats very snug. Everything from Yakima works well, great customer service when I needed spare parts.

I have have my Big Stack...

I have have my Big Stack now for 2 1/2 years. I have been very happy. They allow me to stack up to 6 boats on top of my Subaru Legacy Wagon. I have only one complaint. The bolt that holds the stacker to mounting bracket broke recently and was working its way out. Luckily I saw that it was broker and was able to replace it before it worked its way all the way out which would have cause the stacker to fall out.

I stacked two 16' Tarpons...

I stacked two 16' Tarpons side by side as instructed and they were solid as a rock. I bought these because I can use them w/ our '98 Pathfinder factory rack and my Q-tower rack for my other car too! Saved on expense of buying 2 systems and couldn't be happier.
