The board is great, however there is one flaw. It will not keep the fin locked. I have lost fins with this technology. Now I have to get the lock.

This is an interesting hybrid board, with a flatwater, keeled nose and a surf-style body. It's a really good starter board. I like the almost indestructible construction and the tie-downs in front. The tie-downs convert the board from a basic beginner ride to a light cruiser. If you're bigger than 150–175 lbs, I would go for the 11' model.

The only con about the board is that it's slow. That said, it paddles nicely, and the keeled nose makes it track better than a typical board of this size.

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 7/24/2016

I bought my Bic Ace Tec after only one SUP lesson. I fell in love with the sport immediately. I mainly use it on lakes but I've been know to just drop it in a local farm pond too!

Pros
Padding extends across entire surface, paddles easily and straight. Easy learning curve. Lightweight enough for me to get on and off on my Explorer roof without help.

Cons
I can't say anything negative about my Bic!
Usage
Exercise and exploring.

I love it.It is so stable. I like to go out and take pictures without the worry of tipping over. I plan to increase my adventures on this board with fishing . My children love it because it is not woobly and they sun themselves with comfort.

Pros
Stable and gives you a sense that you can do anything and not end up in the water unless you plan to.

Cons
Wide for my small size but still works.
Usage
I like early morning touring with calm waters. Quiet and peaceful.

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 5/13/2016

I am over 200# but got tired of lugging 11' boards around. 0 cross-fit is light to carry, wide enough to support me, and won't win any speed contest but moves smoothly though our lakes here in NH

Pros
vshape front to split water. Light weight and takes my weight well. Can still surf small waves. And holds up to moderate bangs!

Cons
Not much. I am an older gent and I enjoy user friendly but well made/ This is.
Usage
touring on local river and lakes.

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 4/6/2016
The bic cross is the best combo/all rounder I've paddled. The nose helps it track like a champ but is rockered just enough that when you touch towards the tail a bit the nose lifts and it turns like a champ. The full length pad is great for kids I'm a real fan of Bic ace tec. Pros Tracks really well and has a full length pad. good gripping handle and tracks really well. Cons a bit pricey and would like a more visible color combination Usage I use it for exercise and touring. Have only used it on a lake.

Submitted by: micrhon on 3/9/2016
It's a quality, light weight paddle board. Easy to transport. Easy to paddle. The board has held up well. The only damage has been caused has been operator error. My grandkids like to take it out 2 at a time. One paddles, the other lays belly down and pretends they are surfing. It has also made it's way into the pool as a floaty. Which I do not suggest, expensive for a floaty. Pros Once on the lake and clear of other paddlers I can lay down on my back and let the wind and waves. rock the weeks stress away. Cons at 190lbs I might be a bit too big. or i'm just too old and clumsy. Usage water meditation, just get on the water listen to nature.

Great beginner board. Very stable and forgiving. I like it best in calm water.....and it's perfect for spending the day on a reservoir because you can lay down on it and sun for a while.

Pros
VERY light weight. Stable. Easy to paddle.

Cons
Noisy in a slight chop. The flat bow and lightweight construction makes every little wave echo.
Usage
I use this as my training board when bringing someone new out to learn how to SUP.

I used the Cross Platinum while teaching my first L-1 class with new boarders. It was perfect. The guys were able to adapt and began doing a few cross-steps on the board. Next used it during my Yoga Endorsement in Florida with ACA. Very nice board and stable

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 6/19/2014

This board is perfect for the simple SUP'er. Very easy to control. Perfect for yoga or fishing. Very stable and would recommend to a person who had handed with fiberglass boards before.

Pros
sits on top of the water so your feet don't get wet and you turn easier.

Perfect deck bungees for strapping down items to the deck

Full padded board allows full movement on board.

Cons
its Fiberglass so you must be careful not to damage the board for it is not as durable as the poly boards.
Usage
This is a good flat water board. I would use this for yoga and slow touring.

Stability & Ease! I feel so safe and comfortable on the Cross Platinum. I even climb on my clients extra board with all my camera gear (mind you I don't have underwater housings) and paddle across the cove to get shots of her in action...Amazing! I've been out several times and never had the "I'm going to fall in" feeling.

Pros
Easy to paddle...glides across the water. Very sturdy.

Cons

Usage
Fun, exercise and photography

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 6/4/2014

I took a demo on the Cross. Fell in love instantly. I'm and intermediate to advanced paddler and this board performs on all levels, from beginner to expert. Light, maneuverable, stable, tracks well and is amazing in the surf, even in larger waves. First time paddlers will take to it easily and will be able to advance right thru to intermediate status in no time at all. This one board is as close to an all purpose board as anything manufactured in the SUP market by any board maker. The fact that it is virtually indestructible and works for a large rider weight range, sold me on this board from the first stroke. All of the above and it is killer looking. Cheers

Pros
Light, stable, compact and easy to carry, super in the surf, even in larger waves, indestructible, multipurpose, comfortable decking, attractive and one board does it all.

Cons
Honestly, I couldn't find anything that dampened my enthusiasm for this board.
Usage
Surfing, touring, exercise and paddling my dog around the bay in Santa Cruz

Submitted by: bvalinski on 5/19/2014
This thing is so light! I've been paddle boarding for a year now on a heavy plastic SUP....I love the sport, but dreaded picking 50+ pounds on the the roof of my car. I first ran into Bic at the Paddlers Expo and was immediately attracted by the weight since I almost knocked it over it was so light. I'm also impressed about how durable it seems to be, the plastic coating over the fiberglass is what impressed me to take a risk on this board since the beaches can be rockey where I paddle. Pros Lightweight and stable. This is a great intermediate board that almost anyone can use. Lot's of tie down points, so I plan to get the deck bag for it soon so I can stay out all day. Cons Not sure how the flat bottom will be in chop yet. I've only had it out on flat water, but I am concerned about how flat it is. Usage Paddling around fresh water reservoirs. Easy paddling on summer days (and evenings)

This is a good yoga/lake…

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 5/6/2014
This is a good yoga/lake starter board. It gains speed fast and tracks ok but not as well as other boards I've tried. I think it's the short length to blame. It's wide and stable and light and turns fast. I prefer my wing series 12'6" board for better tracking, a drier ride and an easier paddle. . The biggest downfall of this board is the very loud nose/hull slap in even very light chop. So this board would be best in perfectly calm water. Overall it's a good board but not perfect. Pros Light, compact, stable, lots of tie down points, durable, maneuverable, nice recurved carry handle, can float lots of weight(my 200 lbs plus extras) Cons hull /nose slap in even light chop, doesn't track as well as longer/displacement boards like the BIC Wing series Usage exploring Tampa Bay waterways

Submitted by: tomolo on 3/28/2014
Bic makes SUP paddling easy. The keeled nose helps me keep on track even though my paddling skills are not quite there yet. The full volume makes foot placement less critical (less tippy). Pros Easy to learn on. Cons High Viz colors would make it easier to spot in the choppy waves we get on Lake Michigan. Usage Fitness and Exploring Lake Michigan
