I absolutely love this kayak.…

I absolutely love this kayak. I've had it for two years and in that time I've customized it with a fish finder and anchor. The movable anchor rope means I can anchor in and always have the lowest wind exposure. It's so stable. I can carry an ice chest and bait bucket, rod and net (in pre installed rod holders) with more room to spare. When my fishing adventure is over and my gear is stowed I can still put it on top of my Jeep by myself. That means I don't need a trailer so I can get to more secluded spots. This model also came with a wheel on the stern so I don't need a cart and at concrete or gravel launch sites you can roll right into the water. Super nice and less effort. It also came with paddle holders on pre- installed track but I tend to use that more for stabilizing my rod. The floor has lots of neoprene covered area so when you're trying not to spook that fish you don't make noise that carries underwater. I love this yak and wouldn't trade for love not money.

Gosh....there is not a better…

Gosh....there is not a better fishing kayak on this planet than the Native Watercraft slayer. Bar none. I have used an Ocean Prowler 13 for years. It is a good solid kayak. But the slayer tracks better, has better stability, it's easier to get in and out of, its seating is extremely comfortable, and the deck set up is superior for fishing with plenty of room for rod holders, depth finders, ETC. The only negative is the additional 8 lbs or so that I have gained with the slayer. No kidding, if you are looking for a fishing kayak, this is the only option. This thing should get 11 stars.

Love this Kayak it is great…

Love this Kayak it is great to fish out of and is very stable. The positives are you can stand in it and you can get into the bow. The negatives are it is a little slow to paddle. I would have thought for the price point that the bow cover would have been standard. The Seat is a dream, you can fish for hours in that seat without the fatigue.

This is overall my favorite…

This is overall my favorite Kayak. All the good things that are on the Slayer 14 in a smaller package. Plenty of room for storage and I love the open hatch in the front, I keep my Native Water Trail bow bag in it with the scuppers plugged and my catch net slides under the bungees in easy reach.

It tracks well and has amazing speed. The plano box storage next to the seat is perfect for keeping necessary items close at hand. The Slayer has excellent initial and secondary stability. I have bad knees and am balance-challenged, but I had no problem standing with the seat in the high position. Even with the seat in low position for paddling I still have room to stuff a rain jacket and small dry box. The storage space is amazing and unlike other Kayaks it is easy to turn around and reach into the tankwell behind you or to scoot up and reach the bow storage without ever feeling tippy.

I paddled 2 miles across a lake to fish a small creek and easily out distanced some others in our group. On the paddle back there was some chop and this Kayak paddled true without a lot of corrective strokes. There are gear tracks ad flat areas for mounting cameras and fishing rod holders or anything else you may need for either a day trip or a longer camping trip.

If you can only get one kayak, the Native Slayer series is the best fishing Kayak I have ever paddled.
