14'0" Quetico Description

A dream started in 2011 to build an exceptional board that could handle remote places like Quetico Provincial Park and the BWCAW. It was a board that needed to haul loads, be easily transported across portages, and paddle like a dream. The result is the all new, patented, Quetico14.

The Quetico 14 is a sleek,…

The Quetico 14 is a sleek, beautiful, versatile touring board. One look and it's immediately apparent just how much thought (a lot!) went into this board's design.

It is not a race board and it doesn't turn on a dime. But it does just about everything else really, really well. It's like a full-size SUV (with 3rd row seat!). Super smooth riding, laser-straight tracking, and the board shape makes it incredibly stable. Neither choppy water nor those %#*! wakeboard boats will faze recreational-lake paddlers. And don't let the SUV metaphor fool you. Get this board up to speed and it carries momentum so you can flat-out cruise with an easy cadence. Glance over your shoulder and you'll really see how fast you're covering distance.

With 310L volume, a larger paddler can still haul plenty of cargo. Or, if you're smaller, add a kid, a dog and/or some gear to get the most from the Quetico 14 (or go with the 12'6" version). The deck layout really sets this board apart from other 14' touring boards. Options abound to customize, including an ingenious feature (detachable sit/carry system) that lets you comfortably portage between lakes and will allow you to sit up off your board's deck, campstool style, and enjoy the scenery. It goes on and comes off in less than a minute. No tools required. Really cool! Padded handles at tip and tail make a 2-person carry or transporting on a 2-wheeled cart easy and painless. There are plenty of tie-downs, fore and aft, and recessed anchor points that will accommodate 1" webbing straps, so you can secure virtually anything you'll need for everything from a picnic lunch to a wilderness camping trip. Trick it out as much or as little as you like.

My board is finished in the HIPtech finish, which adds a couple of pounds of weight and a lot of peace of mind. Understated, but beautifully finished.
