First inflatable kayak. Very easy to set up and deflate. Very stable for two, and drop stitch floor really makes it rigid. Very smooth tracking, and relatively fast.

7 years ago I purchased the advanced convertible with 2 additional decks in order to paddle either in solo and in tandem. Later , after 3 years I purchased the drop stich to get more stability and better performance . I used it several times for touring kayak on lakes and wide rivers in Italy, where I live, even if with bad weather conditions under rain, with strong wind and waves. I am used to practice kayaking with hard shell kayak and comparing it with inflating advanced element convertible, there is not mutch difference. The cons is to spend a bit of time to dry it but also the hard shell needs cleaning . I reccomend it for beginner and intermediate kayakers but also seniors one can get joy and great adventures with it. ( its capacity to carry out Kg 230.00 must be taken in proper consideration expecially for 2 days Touring Kayaking. Ettore Boles ( Italy )

Three months with several years of kayak and SUP experience. So You should certainly have an awareness that ikayaks do not usually behave the same as solid ones. But this model significantly reduces that gap. Inflation is relatively easy and improves with practice. Handling is remarkably agile with the drop stitch flooring (which also seems to keep some of the cold out of the bottom of the boat). We kayak with a 15 pound Havanese that seems to prefer this over other kayaks and I can still fit my legs in the back. Cleanup without a hose can be a challenge after the paddle but a towel and sponge have worked so far.

This is a great kayak from Advanced Elements. The difference between this and the original convertible version is the drop stitch floor. In my opinion, it's worth the money to get this version. The drop stitch floor is very comfortable and tracks very well on the water. With two people paddling, we can reach an average speed over 3 mph. The wide body and rigid floor give this kayak great stability. Even in the wake of power boats, it still holds very well on the water. Keep in mind that this kayak is 15 feet long and weighs over 50 lbs. So it can be difficult to carry around with all the gears loaded up. If you are using it for solo, I recommend getting a kayak cart. The only issue I had with this kayak is the drying process. I guess it's a common issue for all the inflatable kayak. Since this kayak has a fabric cover, it is very difficult to get rid of all the water before storing. I often need to put it in my patio for half of a day to get it completely dried.

My wife and I bought this kayak at the beginning of summer and it has been excellent. We are older and needed something lightweight and storable during the winter months and this turned out to be perfect. It takes only a couple of minutes to get it ready and to clean it. We use in Puget Sound for kayaking and for crabbing. It is big enough to carry a crab pot and other gear. We also have three grandsons that love taking it out when they visit.
