I am pleased with the kayak…

I am pleased with the kayak and certainly like how it tracks. Further I like the design of the bottom of the kayak (the hull) with its drop stitch technology greatly improving its tracking capabilities. The fin is also a plus. Although the Kayak is quite wide, the design of its hull diminishes the drag on the water due to its skillfully engineered hull. Needless to mention, the width provides great stability in case you are touring with pets or small ones. There is very little chance of you capsizing this Kayak. I however have a very serious issue with its design: 1) There are two channel around the front and back (bow and stern) of the kayak which provide no access for cleaning. These channels hidden well within the bow and stern provide no access to them. The only way to indirectly access those channels for cleaning is by pushing clean water into them. This poses a problem if salty water and sand gets into the channels, as the flushing with clean water would have to be done several times. Further it is not clear how fast these channels dry up once the water is drained from them, as there is no way of accessing them to verify that they have indeed dried. Further, and this is very concerning, in the event of a puncture of the kayak involving one of these channels, there is no way to access inside them to repair the puncture. This is my only serious complaint. of this Kayak. 2) The Kayak packed into its carrying backpack carrying the two seats and without the pump and two ores has a weight of around 57 lbs, 56.8 to be precise; note this includes the weight of the included backpack. When you add the oars and pump, the weight easily exceeds 65 lbs. But of course that depends on the oars and pump you buy.
