Tualatin River in Oregon

Trip Overview

Nice, easy, afternoon paddle up the river and back. No current to speak of, so it's quite easy to head up stream.

We started in Tualatin at the community park (boat ramp). You could also start down river at Brown's Ferry park. No boat ramp there, but there is a nice dock.

We went up river about 3 miles. Lots of ducks in the water and several parks to stop at along the way.

This is an easy paddle - good for beginners. Very peaceful.

Accommodations:

At the park: restrooms, picnic area, boat ramp. Along the river - not many places to stop except for a couple of parks along the way. There is a walk in boat launch at the hwy 99 bridge. You have to pack your boat down the trail, but it's wide, paved to the river.

Directions:

From I-5 we took exit 289 / Nyberg road. Headed west into the city of Tualatin (just south of Portland, OR) to the community park just off Tualatin Road.
