Trip Overview

Poplar Tree Lake is located in Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park. This lake is a great lake for new or experienced paddlers. It offers a boat ramp, beautiful scenery, and is just minutes North of Memphis.

If you are cruising and site seeing you can paddle around the whole lake in about an 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We really enjoy afternoon to sunset floats here. The rangers patrol regularly and it is a pretty safe park.

There is a $2 boat fee that can be purchased at the visitor center or boat ramp. We normally buy them at the General Store outside the park, just in case nobody is at the ramp.

Accommodations:

Boat Ramp, Cabin Rental, Tent and RV Camping, Disc Golf, Hiking, Bike Trails

Fees:

$2 Boat launch Fee
