Trip Overview

Overnight Canoe / Camping trip - We put in at Peace River RV and Camping resort in Zolfo Springs and took out at Brownville Park boat ramp. - About a 20(ish)+ mile paddle - For a small fee (about 10.00 or less per day) you can park at either one. - We had one truck at the put in and one at the take out. - Water level was very sufficient for a gentle paddle. - Slow moving brackish freshwater with tons of alligators!! - Great paddle for the nature lover and bird enthusiast! - We spotted deer, wild turkey, at least a hundred gators, and one mocassin slithered into camp. - Paddling southeast it's permissible to set up camp pretty much anywhere on the right side of the river. - Much of the property on the left side is privately owned. - A lot of sandy, riverside, beach spots to set up camp along the way. - We did have to navigate around some fallen trees and through a few shallow spots but never had to get out.
