Trip Overview

Grand River

1st Trip with new 15'6" Nigel Foster Seaward. Average speed was 6.5 MPH with lots of 7+ speed. Active water stage with peak forecast next weekend minor flooding.

Saw six eagles with a pair leading my way down the river for over six miles. Each time getting closer to perch before he flew. Just past Saranac I coasted and one let me float right under them almost taking flight but held steady. Three with white heads and must be a young one all brown. Eagles 5-6 were just outside of Lowell about 7 miles past last sighting. Not sure if it was a pair that followed me or two more.

Geese and more geese.... maybe a thousand all told. over a dozen swans and tons of other ducks.

All in all an incredible 3 hours and 15 minute trip.
