Trip Overview
My wife and I made the trip to Alum Creek and were not disappointed. We put in at Howard Road just north of US 36. This is a boat ramp, a little slippery with moss but clean and north of the no wake zone, so not a lot of boat traffic going in. Just north of the ramp are a couple of little inlets to explore.
We paddled up the river about 3.5 miles. The scenery was great. Rocky cliffs with vegetation, various water fowl, Blue Herons and toward the upper end, a series of Bald Eagle nests, most had eagles perched on them.
Directions:
US 36 south out of Delaware, north on N. Three B's & K RD, west on Howard, parking and ramp is left before you go over the bridge.
