Trip Overview

(4.5/5) Adventure Sea Kayak & SUP (Captiva) Brie and I had a great time, especially thanks to our tour guide Carmen. She was very personable and knowledgeable and because it was a private tour, we were able to explore with her at our own pace. She took us through where the Roosevelt Channel opens up into the Pine Island sound. You are basically in the open water between Captiva island and the west coast of FL, so the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. While we were kayaking we saw plenty of species of birds that you don't usually see. I had a dolphin follow closely, mere feet behind my kayak. We also got to see a manatee come up inches from my kayak. Outside of the wildlife, getting to paddle through the groves of Buck Key was also very enjoyable. The path had some low hanging branches and got a tad narrow at time so it might be a bit difficult for people kayaking for the first time, as you could easily run your kayak into the sides of the Grove or into a low branch, and likely spiders, little crabs, ect. Outside of that one factor, it was an amazing tour and I highly recommend it.
