Description
You can park on the gravel shoulder on Route 133 across from Farnham's. The gravel shoulder is not posted for any parking restrictions, but parking may be full when Farnham's is open for lunch and dinner on summer weekends and other nice summer days. Do not park in Farnham's parking lot. They open at 11 for lunch. An employee at Farnham's told me that parking and launching here is okay. The launch site is in the creek right behind Farnham's. It's quite a short walk from your car to the launch site directly behind the restaurant's parking lot. Although the shore has cordgrass in bay mud and not much room to load multiple kayaks, I consider it an easy launch site because the walk is quite short down an embankment.
The launch site is in the creek right behind Farnham's. Although the shore has cordgrass in bay mud and not much room to load multiple kayaks, it an easy launch site because the walk from parking is quite short down an embankment. Due to carrying a kayak through the parking area of a busy dining establishment and a slippery muddy embankment, plus the limited parking that is shared with restaurant diners, this site is not preferred to other launches in Essex Bay.Location & Directions
