I bought this kayak for fishing and exploring. The boat is well built although a bit on the heavy side. This is not a boat you want to portage unless you're in good shape. The foot drive is awesome and even with the old three blade prop it is much faster than other kayaks in this class without foot drive. The skeg on the bottom of the lower unit does scrape when you're in less than two feet of water. This also causes deterioration of the molded plastic skeg. I plan to lay on some fiberglass in this area to reinforce it in the future. The boat is stable and a real pleasure when fishing because you can control the boat location and orientation with reference to current or wind. I would highly recommend this boat for heavier anglers. However, this is not a "car top" boat. If you do buy one plan on buying a trailer as well.
