I have had the kayak for ca. a year and used it for one longer trip (3 days in the Okefenokee Swamp followed by 3 days on the Suwannee River). I am small (5'2"), so I needed a lightweight kayak to be able to port. The solid side handles make moving it around easier, too. The storage hatches are larger than the ones on the Lifetime kayak I had, so retrieving water bottles from the interior of the kayak was less time consuming. It handles very well and is super easy to turn and maneuver through brush and whatever else (was I glad to have a short boat going through East Fork Suwannee River in the Okefenokee!). It seems to track fairly well and be reasonably fast - I'm sure seriously longer kayaks will do better in this department, but I didn't notice anything that I thought *should* be better and I outpaddled my 6'3" friend who was on a Lifetime Angler. The upswept bow gives you a little bit of a "surfing" feeling on a well moving river, which I really like.

I recently bought the Element95 as an upgrade to my Lifetime Tides. I was looking for a versatile, relatively lightweight and shorter SOT Yak that I could fish from. This one has it all. Plenty of room to move around, and plenty of storage and rod holders (x4) for all my gear. As an added bonus, it tracks very well on lakes and is very stable while paddling or casting my line. It comes in an assortment of very aesthetically pleasing colors, I chose Molten Lava, and it really is a sharp look. Shipping was fast, and it is very safely packaged and sets up in no time. I would just mention that the seat seems to be difficult to set up initially, but once you realize the storage pouch mounted on it is supposed to be at your back, it all makes sense. I'm completely happy with this purchase.

Absolutely awesome little yak. I have never seen another that looks so good, and Hoodoo quality is second to none. The only assembly is the seat, which can be securely attached in a matter of minutes. The quality of the build, and the outstanding customer service make this a no-brainer. I mostly use it on rivers as a rec, but it has some great fishing specs, also. I love the upswept bow, and it is stable enough to stand on. Also- Purple Haze!! It is just awesome. There is nothing better for rec or casual fishing!

Bought one of these online directly from Hoodoo and couldn't WAIT to get it out. Unfortunately it left a lot to be desired. I've never been in such a wobbly feeling sit-on-top. I'm an experienced kayaker but my partner was not and he was beyond uncomfortable. The other main issue was the seat. They show the seats as sitting upright on it's own somehow and that definitely was NOT the case. The seat bottom doesn't actually attach to anything so the entire seat slips down, making it nearly impossible to get yourself seated correctly without a major production and assistance from another person. The product seemed well made, but for the above reasons I wouldn't recommend. We sold these after one 30 minute trip.

Ordered our HooDoo Element…

Submitted by: birdboyer on 7/8/2021

Ordered our HooDoo Element 95 kayaks in April and they finally came last week. It was sooooo worth the wait! Took them out this past weekend and was so happy how easy it was to get it and out. No more sit in kayaks for me. Paddling was easy and the boats just glided through the water. I also did not get soaking wet each time I did a stroke like I did with my sit-in. Unfortunately, I did not have my scupper hole plugs in under my seat so my bottom and seat cushion got wet and my white shorts now have a gray seat cushion pattern on them . Hopefully it will wash out. Next time I will wear dark shorts so it wont matter if the dye in the seat is not color fast.
