This is a great kayak for beginners and for recreation. The thing is a freaking tank. You can pack it full and spend hours paddling around a lake. The one I got from Walmart came with a free paddle. The paddle was a piece of junk, and I bought I nicer one almost immediately. This kayak is not built for speed. It will not flip very easy and it's easy to control but you will not get much speed out of it.

This was my first kayak and I liked it so much it made me fall in love with the sport. Now I paddle in a Perception Carolina 12.
