You’ve only got three days to grab some gear

After another winter of shortages, including restricting snow sports sales to co-op members, REI is blowing out co-op and clearance watersports and camping and hiking gear as much as 70% off.

We’re big proponents of doing a winter inventory of your gear and supplies, not because we think you should upgrade to the latest and greatest for no reason, but for maintenance, upkeep and repair. This is the time to sit down and look at what’s broken, breaking and disappointing, so it doesn’t break and disappoint you when you’re on the water this spring.

The REI sale is a bit of a mixed bag—there are a lot of what we assume are last season’s sunglasses and trunks, and few in the way of gear like actual paddles or boats. Think accessories, like soft coolers and packable chairs. There’s more that we think is useful in the other categories, including a lot of technical clothing and high-end backpacks. There are also miscellaneous water sports items on sale throughout the store, but the 70% off sale ends on February 20, 2022.

Even non-sale equipment is still in short supply, and there are no sales anywhere in the canoe and kayak categories. However, you can get 15% off most full-price paddles (aside from Werner) when you buy a canoe, kayak or stand up paddleboard.
