Tundra Hippies Adjustable Hip Waders

Tundra Hippies Adjustable Hip Waders Description

The Tundra Hippies are built just like Chota's existing Hippies with the addition of a new, tougher outer material. The new material is twice as tough as regular Hippies with no noticeable weight increase. The Tundra Hippies are geared toward those more adventurous folks that tend to take the road less traveled to get where they are going. The idea to make a tougher Hippie came from Alaskan hunting guides who wanted a Hippie that could handle the demands of long treks through the varied environment of the Tundra.

I bought these last winter…

I bought these last winter and have used Tundra Hippies for 3 seven to ten sea kayaking trips in Alaska and they're GREAT! Prior to this model, I've used other adjustable waders, neoprene knee high boot and rubber boots. A dry suit is certainly more versatile for getting in and out of your kayak in deep or surfy water, but the Hippies are immensely better than knee high boots. With a good wading boot, their traction and foot support is also far better than any neoprene or rubber boot. They are well made with the very nice strap just above your calf to help keep them in place if you're using them in a rolled down mode. I also use them for on shore hiking when its raining or if river crossing are part of the agenda. When I wear these out, I'll most certainly buy another pair.
