I bought these last winter and have used Tundra Hippies for 3 seven to ten sea kayaking trips in Alaska and they're GREAT! Prior to this model, I've used other adjustable waders, neoprene knee high boot and rubber boots. A dry suit is certainly more versatile for getting in and out of your kayak in deep or surfy water, but the Hippies are immensely better than knee high boots. With a good wading boot, their traction and foot support is also far better than any neoprene or rubber boot. They are well made with the very nice strap just above your calf to help keep them in place if you're using them in a rolled down mode. I also use them for on shore hiking when its raining or if river crossing are part of the agenda. When I wear these out, I'll most certainly buy another pair.
