Marimba Description

Speed. That is what the Marimba is all about. It is not a racing kayak, of course, but as far as recreational sit-on-tops go, this is one of the fastest in the world. That’s because the Vagabond guru designed this one for himself. Celliers Kruger focuses on racing & river marathons and long multi– day expeditions. He designed the Marimba to deliver pure performance that keeps you moving faster, even when you’re carrying 3 weeks of gear and supplies.

After many years looking to replace my kaya k. This Marimba vagabond arrived for approximately more than 10 years, I use it in the open sea when crossing and in my camp with a large capacity of space. In the Caribbean where the climate is changing, I recommend this kayak. extremely satisfied.

I have been using my Vagabond Marimba for more than a year in the Greek seas and love it. I use it for fitness paddling and some fishing, a lot of fun! Fast, stable and comfortable, it handles nicely sea chop and wakes from motorboats. Tracks well and turns easily by leaning it. A lot of thought has been put in the design of this kayak, not your usual SOT. Proper ergonomics allow for efficient paddling and a good workout at the end of the day. Build quality looks excellent. Plenty of storage too. An eyecatcher at the club. I also paddle a V7 surfski which I love, it is faster but not as stable and versatile as my Marimba.

We have used our Marimbas in the sea and flat water for about a year now and simply love them. We use ours to tour in unfamiliar areas with big cliffs and strong rebound as they are stable enough to take the wave chop and sleek enough to do the 12 - 15km with ease. We also use ours as the guides boats on tours as they are able to get to the clients quickly and it is very easy to jump off, assist the new paddle and then jump back on to a Marimba if need be. Recently paddlers we have started using them to help paddlers with their technique - they are that versatile.

The Marimba is a really well designed, very stable and easy to handle on both still water and for the light river work I have done. Adequate and well designed storage space and its robust construction make it ideal for trips. I would recommend this for any level of paddler.
