So, I was given my first pair of Crocs by a friend who got them as a gift. He said they were the dumbest, ugliest shoes he had ever seen and would never wear them, so if I wanted them I could have 'em. I thought they were goofy, too, but I thought they would make good creek shoes and should dry quickly, so, for free; what's to lose...
Well, when those finally wore out, I got another pair, and another... They are comfortable and they do dry very quickly. The ones with straps on the back fit better and help keep them on when walking shorelines. Also, get the ones with fewer holes in the front and sides so small creek gravel doesn't get in under your feet.
I've tried other "waterproof" shoes and sandals; much more expensive, not waterproof, and don't dry fast... Yes, they look funny at first but my Crocs have been the best creekin' kayakin' shoes I've found.
