I bought my Buffalo Royalex…

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 12/27/2023

I bought my Buffalo Royalex Canoe (16FT) off a craigslist ad. The seller was from North Carolina and he was selling it for a very reasonable price. Mind you I live in Maine and Old Town Canoes are all the rave, I hadn't even heard of a Buffalo Canoe. I called him up and went over and looked at it. Right away I knew it was different. The seller told me the story behind the Buffalo Canoe company and you could tell how much he stood behind the canoe. I ended up buying it, taking it home and built a trolling motor mount for it. This thing cuts through the water with ease. The flat bottom of the canoe makes it ideal for fishing. We have taken it on Moosehead and Sebago Lake fishing many times without issue. It cuts through water. People ask me all the time "what is a Buffalo canoe?"

I am always happy to tell the story. This canoe will last me a lifetime, top quality craftsmanship. Well worth the price.

I wouldn’t even consider another 16 foot canoe. The Buffalo T-Formex is light, super durable and has a beautiful line. Every time I take it out, someone raves about how beautiful it is. They have several colors including some camo patterns that are to die for. You won’t be disappointed with a new Buffalo T-Formex canoe from Jasper, Arkansas.

Most versatile canoe on the market!

The Buffalo TFormex canoe is the most versatile canoe on the market. Weather you like to paddle around on open water, pack your gear for overnight adventures, or take it down your favorite white water river. You’re able to do all of these activities (and more) solo or with your family in the Buffalo canoe.

Did I mention these boats are handbuilt and will last you a lifetime. After you experience a Buffalo canoe you won’t want any other boat but you will want to add more to your fleet for all your friends to join along in your adventures.

    Submitted by: cayates07 on 6/4/2020
I do not currently own a Buffalo Canoe but I have paddled in many. By far, the only canoe that I would invest my money in. Gary Gordon, the owner, cares about the quality of each and every canoe that rolls out of his shop. These canoes are built one at a time by hand and the craftsmanship shows. In Arkansas, most canoe rental places have a fleet that consist of these canoes because they stand up to the use and abuse of people that are renting them, many of which have no experience. When Gary states that he wants this canoe to last you a lifetime, he means it. Not only your lifetime, but a product that will be passed down for generations to come and enjoyed by all. When I have the money to invest in a canoe, there is no need to look any further because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Buffalo will be the canoe that I choose.

Buffalo Canoes are tough as nails! Mine is over 10 years old and still floats like new. They handle whitewater and technical corners with ease. They are also great for overnight camping trips, as they hold all of your gear without compromising the boat’s ability to maneuver down river. I wouldn’t own anything else! And they are made in the USA!!!

    Submitted by: guest-paddler on 3/20/2019

Buffalo canoes has been manufacturing boats for decades, and I bought my first one a few years back, though being nearly as old as I am and retired from two separate rentals. I wouldn't be afraid to tackle any water with my BUFFALO. The new T-Formex are obviously manufactured with much stronger plastic if you've ever seen a comparison (and are any deeper than most are in the canoe world.) The new boats must be built for battle in even the roughest of water.

Buffalo is back! Same amazing 16' Buffalo canoe design, but with the new T-Formex material. Initial tests from myself and others have shown this new material to be just as durable and slightly less weight than Royalex. It's a great time to be looking for a canoe!

    Submitted by: guest-paddler on 3/5/2019

Recently bought a new Buffalo TFX canoe for Xmas. It is absolutely a beautiful boat. So far I've only paddled on flat water since I live in Louisiana, and I can't wait to get it on the Buffalo! It is very stable on lake water. It is light enough to make it easy to load and portage. I love the ash wood webbed seats, thwarts (one is a yoke) and handles. They are beautiful. The staff is amazing, especially Joe, who worked with me. They have followed up more than once to make sure I am a satisfied buyer. If you are looking for a tandem/solo canoe, you can't go wrong with a Buffalo TFX.

I had a used buffalo canoe I purchased from a local that had been passed from 2 other locals and originally bought for rental use. You could tell by some of the creases and scratches that the Boat had been through alot but still did fine for about a 25 year old boat. I decided I was going to purchase my favorite color in one of the new boats so I could charish it for the rest of my life and I've loved floating it ever since!

    Submitted by: crozzy89 on 2/27/2019

Picked up a 16' Buffalo Canoe made from the toughest material out there... T-Formex. I also own a 16' Royalex Buffalo and the new material is stronger than ever. I have ran it twice so far (purchased in December) and it truly lives up to the "Buffalo" name. I have outfitted the boat to run tandem or solo (runs great solo whitewater).

This boat even survived the "polar-vortex". I had the boat outside in 50mph+ winds and it smashed into my trailer. I have YET to find any damage on the boat from getting thrashed.

So yourself a favor and purchase a boat that will last you a lifetime. Best hull and best staff you could find. Thanks guys!

I have been paddling Buffalo Royalex boats for years, and they were the real deal. I have gotten to paddle and see the new Buffalo TFX boats in the last few weeks, and as much as I loved Royalex, the new generation of ABS has arrived and is a wonderful improvement. These new Buffalo TFX boats are tough and built to last several lifetimes! The boat handles like a dream whether being paddled solo or tandem. Incredibly stable and forgiving on pushy Class II water. The new camo colors are a beautiful addition to the old standard color palettes. Buffalo Canoes Manufacturing is an industry leader in high-quality ABS boats. After working for several years at different canoe consessionaires, Buffalo Canoes have held up better after hundreds of trips down river than any other boat I have seen put through the same beatings by livery operations.
