Good Intro Board for FLAT water, not choppy surf

This board is a great intro board for mostly flat surf (lakes, bays, creeks). NOT suited for any type of choppy conditions, even mild chop. If you are looking to use this board in waterways with high boat traffic and/or currents from larger bodies of water, forget it!
It is a very lightweight board and is super easy to rig to the car and carry. It has a soft top that is durable, but it will show signs of use quickly. Strapping it to the top of my car has caused some minor indents where the straps run-- I don't think this has or will greatly affect performance. Overall a great board at a great price-- you can't beat the kit it comes with!

Amazing board and well worth the price. Perfect for beginners as well as those with a higher skill level. Soft foam feeling on your feet with the durability of an epoxy based board. I love this board and have had it for a few months now! This board included many accessories such as a paddle and leash as well as roof racks for my car when travelling with the SUP. Would definitely recommend to those looking for a great quality board for a cheaper price.
Pros
Sturdy, as well as includes many accessories for a great price.
Cons
The board is made of a material a little lighter than most boards, so it may dent easier.
Usage
Used casually around the cottage, a few times a week, for exercise as well as touring.

Great board, a friend of mine recently purchased this item and I've spent my fair share of time on it. Most of my experience on this board is in Lake Michigan with pretty calm waters but it seems to handle the occasional wave quite well. Loading it onto the car was a breeze (with my own personal ratchet straps, the ones that it came with did hold it but didn't feel very secure) and it travelled the whole hour long trip with only a small dent where we made the strap a bit too tight. All in all I've had a good experience with this board as has my friend who owns it.
Pros
Light enough and easy to carry, looks great, fits well on a smaller SUV, easily controllable on the water
Cons
Foam is easy to dent (just be gentle), might not fit well on smaller cars
Usage
Exercise, and as a great way to relax on the water

Good beginners board. Plenty of bouyancy for a man up to about 180 pounds. This board is great for a beginning flat water paddler. However, it does tend to bend a little in the middle if you start getting down on a fast stroke. All around good bargain for the money.
Pros
Durable
Good beginner board
Cons
Not stiff enough
Usage
Exercise on a lake
Just started with this sport…
Just started with this sport and was given this board as a gift. First time on the water stood up and paddled for a couple of hours. The grip was good no problems, the paddle was everything I needed from a paddle and more.I am 57 years old and I about 190lbs and certainly didn't have any problems with this board at all, it is very easy to handle and carry, I am 5'9 and getting it from my car to the water was a breeze. I would very much recommend this board to anyone looking for their first time trying paddleboarding. The board looks great handles very well, and very easy to learn on, I plan on having this board around to use for many years. It certainly fits all of my needs paddleboarding plus looks great while paddling. So for anyone looking to try boarding you certainly can't go wrong with this one.
Pros
Easy to carry, wide enough to be stable, looks like it would cost more, the package come with the fin and a leash, gives you a website to answer any and all questions you might have regarding this board and sport.
Cons
Pretty much the only thing that I might even complain about is that it doesn't come with any type of case. Other than that this board fits all of my needs, one more little hint that could be very helpful is the soft top car straps that come with the board if it had better instruction would be great, alot of men I am sure would know how these straps work and attach but some of us women might have a harder time trying to figure this out.
Usage
I use this board for relaxing paddling on the lake also will be starting yoga on the water here soon.

I love the look and feel of this board, and I really dig how light and easy it is to maneuver. It's very navigable on slow moving water. Good entry level board.
Pros
Definitely the best feature of this board is how light and sleek it is getting to and on the water.
Cons
The biggest drawback is durability. The super soft foam is very, very easily nicked and dented. You'll see dings in the rails and dips where your feet and knees go everytime you take it out on the water.
Usage
Touring, exercise in the river.

Pros

I wanted a light SUP board I could easily lift on top of my VW Bus that didn't break the bank either. I'm new to the sport and needed a board that I could easily balance on. This hit on all accounts coming in at 25lbs, $500 and it has a nice, stable platform even I can manage on semi-rough waters. Recommended for new SUPers and those on a budget.
Pros
budget friendly, light weight, stable platform, and looks cool too
Cons
Easily dented/ punctured so watch for rocks and protect your rails from tight lashings to your vehicle.
Usage
Exercise and touring. Also looks good strapped on top of my VW Bus!

Got this for my daughter. First board. She is about 110 lb and it works great for her. I am 255 and was not very stable for me. I am a rookie, but did not seem to support my weight. My wife jumped right up on it (120lb) and first time on a board she did great. I've seen these all over for 500 to 650.. bought it at Sam's club for 389.
Pros
Great price
Great package
Great stability for lighter paddlers.
Cons

Pros

Great beginner board. Light, sturdy and comes with everything you need to start paddleboarding. Includes board, paddle, ankle leash and car top foam protectors with straps. Can't beat the value when you want something to learn on that does not cost a thousand or more dollars.
Pros

Cons
Top can be slippery so I bought a deck pad for it and its perfect.

Picked up this board for a great deal at Sams Club for $380 for the package, it's a newer model than most of the reviews I read on here prior to my purchase and they did fix the slippery surface issue by adding a grip pad in the middle, they also added a camera mount which is a pretty cool feature for a GoPro camera if you have one, which I happen to. I live in Alabama so my primary use is on the river and down creeks so I was slightly concerned with the durability factor as a few people complained that it was kind of fragile which makes sense since it is a soft board but for the price I went for it and haven't actually had many dings yet. It's actually pretty easy to maneuver so we don't hit as many rocks and stuff as in the kayaks. I would definitely reccomend this or a beginner board
Pros
Great stability and handling on any kind of water. You really can't beat the price for the package either
Cons
Doesn't have handles on the front or back to secure it to the front and back of my car for extra security
Usage
Recreation and exercise - I dabble with some yoga poses

I am just getting into the sport and have only been on a board one other time before purchasing this. The other was a much more expensive board, but at my level of experience this board handled just as well. I live on the Bay in Tampa and utilize it on calm waters several times a week. At $389 for the upgraded board at Sam's Club I could not go wrong. The version I purchased has a deck pad and deck straps to store items, so it was not slippery. It also came with a padded roof system so I could get it home.
Pros
Price Point
All needed equipment included, with the exception of the life vest
Light Weight
Cons
Would like the foam to be more durable, I sometimes ding it when putting it on the rack.

Pros
Light, comfortable, smooth, and easy to use on flat water by youth and adult.
Cons
Would be better if the board came with a transport bag or if the company had one available to purchase. Dings/chips from riding on top of my SUV will affect the board over time.

This board really can't be beat for the price. Comes with everything you need to get started and is a fraction of the cost of any other board, foam fiberglass or epoxy, that youre going to find. CBC is a great company with quality products. Ive got a surfboard from them as well that I love. The design is great too, no one will know at a glance that you've got a foam board over a much higher end one. You wont win any races, but you'll keep up with your friends, surf, be stable and safe.
I paddle with my dog and he actually loves the foam board. Much easier for him to hold and balance on than fiber glass.
I learned on fiber glass boards, Im by no means a pro but I started out on much nicer boards. When I decided I wanted to commit to the sport, I just wasnt ready to justify or commit to the price tag most boards come with. I searched high and low, every website and store in town and really did my research before investing. You just wont find anything better for the price, or anything at this price period.
Yeah the board is foam so it can get dented , but most dents pop back once you give them some time to recover, and anything that doesnt generally isnt noticeable and doesnt affect the board whatsoever.
If your into the sport, invest in this board and you certainly wont regret it. Not worth paying $100 a day for rentals when you can have your own that comes with everything you need.
Go for it!
Pros
Cost, performance, asthetics
Cons
Invest in a deck pad if youre new, much easier to grip with your toes!
Usage
exercixe, touring, surf

This is my 1st SUP board, found brand new for $399 in local play it again sports. I've been out 4 times, (gulf) and I feel EXTREMELY comfortable. Board handles as well as the hard top boards.
Pros
Stylish appearance, light weight, very fast for this type of board. Much nicer than inflatables!
Cons
Can't use suction cups for storage, no bungee straps, very easy to damage/dent the top layer of board.
Usage
Primarily exercise, surf, touring, I live on the Boca Ciega Bay. Use it daily on the bay 3 times per week in the Gulf.

This board is my first SUP and I love it. I have not paddled a kayak since I got it. Very comfortable for starter board.
Pros
Easy to learn on, and is very stable platform.
Cons
Paint wears off if wearing any type of shoes. Soft top gets a few dings and strap marks
Usage
I paddle mostly on the local salt and KY rivers, but if I spot a body of water while driving somewhere I will often explore it in street clothes except for bare feet or booties.
I am just learning to SUP,…
I am just learning to SUP, and I ordered this a few months ago,and it is so stable and makes me feel secure.
Pros
I am still learning to stand up on it, but I have paddled around the lake sitting on it, on my knees, etc., and I feel very secure with it's balance, and the fact that it stays well above the water with me.
Cons
It didn't come with pads to stand on, and the board is very slick and easy to slide off of. I ordered some pads that I haven't applied to my SUP yet, but hopefully that will resolve the issue.
Usage
I got it to use for exercise, to get a good core workout as I paddle. I use it on South Holston Lake, and I look forward to buying a wetsuit and continuing to learn to stand up and get in fit.

Great board for the price I paid! I little slippery, but if you have balance, you'll be fine! I used on the Gulf of Mexico and I hadent surfed in over a year, so I had to get to the sound side and get used to it. Once I was, it is AMAZING!! There is nothing else I would by for this price! The foam top dents when you strap it down to tight (which I do because I'm afraid of losing it.
Pros
Big, cheap, comes with everything you need, easy to ride
Cons
A little slippery, would've liked to see a pad on it, but for the price can't say anything bad about that!
Usage
Everything. I've raced (not as fast as some), Surfed (doesn't cut through the waves as well as some), and just paddled across flat water

As a first time SUP'er this inexpensive board was our first choice. We looked at several boards & decided for our family of 5 getting multiple boards was important & we were able to get 2 of these for the cost of 1 typical board. It had a list price of $599, but we were able to work the price down to $450 each from our local Play It Again sports store. The boards were brand new in the box and included the leash, paddle, and an inexpensive roof rack system (that we dont use). Because these boards were priced so reasonably it allowed us to see if this sport was something we would be interested in doing without too much of a financial commitment. FYI, this board will hold my 210#'s plus my daughters 80#'s at the same time. If I continue in the sport theses 2 boards will be my kids & I will purchase a higher end board.
Pros
Light, stable, inexpensive, overall a good beginner board I believe. In calm to very moderate chop the board performs very well. However, in white cap chop it is not as stable as I would like.
Cons
easily damaged. 1 board already has a large nick down to core & began taking on water. I filled hole with marine epoxy & it seems to be holding up so far. Very slippery deck since its just foam so I use wax. Unfortunately the wax has caused 1 of the boards top coat of paint to crackle & fleck off where the wax was applied.
Usage
saltwater touring at the beach in light FL surf, and have used in a calm bayou. Have also used on flat fresh water lake.
