Exceptional product line from Lincoln Canoe and Kayak

I recently picked up my new Schoodic from Lincoln Canoe and Kayak in Amesbury, MA. Using their web site, I was able to easily custom order a kayak exactly to my specifications; everything from
material type, deck/hull color, and many options for accessories. The end result was a fantastic looking boat, lightweight, and it handles great! And the staff at Lincoln was friendly and very knowledgeable,
everyone I spoke to at their store is involved in either the design or manufacture of the product.

The Schoodic is a very attractive boat. I had been itching to try it out to see how it maneuvers, edges, rolls, and feels overall. The boat fit me like a glove. I felt in control of the boat 100% of the time. Rolling the boat is fairly easy. Having only rolled the Romany Classic, the switchover was easy. With my weaker offhand roll the boat was just as easy. Keeping it on edge with the balance brace was trickier but it can be done once you have gotten used to the feel. I liked how the Schoodic tracked and how it felt like it could be taken out on a long haul trip even though it is about 15 feet. The low volume of the boat makes you feel snug but not pinched. I can not wait to take it into some challenging water and current to see how it performs. Overall great boat.
Well, I STILL have my Schoodic and have determined that it WILL be the last kayak I'll ever own. It's a good length, tracks well, and is fast! Friends who have tried it out are in envy. Awesome boat!
I have had my Schoodic Kevlar…
I have had my Schoodic Kevlar boat for about 6 weeks now. It weighs a very nice 40#, and is well built and strong. There is no problem using a paddle, and sitting on the rear coaming/deck to get in or out, the decks are stiff. The Kevlar "paddle lite process" is one of the strongest I have seen, and I work with glass/carbon/kevlar materials in another of my hobbies. I had a small leak around the skeg box when I first put it in the water, but I fixed it myself, although my dealer would also have done it. It is dry now, and this boat is fast, very responsive, and handles extremely well. I am very happy with my Schoodic after paddling lakes, rivers, and ponds with it. The small front "glove box" compartment is the envy of other paddlers everywhere I go. The Lincoln boats are well built, priced the same as most Kevlar boats, paddle great, and are good looking.

This is the newest model Lincoln has produced. These boats aren't mass produced but rather hand-crafted and to individual color and material specifications if you so desire. Mine is the lightest boat in its class weighing in at only 39 lbs in Kevlar and so easy to manage. The boat is also available in glass and carbon. A creative and flexible person can load this boat up for several days excursion. The mold dictates it having a skeg which I personally would not have opted to have and see this as this design's only flaw. The forward day hatch eliminates the need to use a deck bag which offers less drag. The deck itself is a nice 13" height which give you a dry paddling experience. The ability to turn and paddle through rougher surf and wind conditions is dependent on skill level so naturally a novice might find it does not turn on command. I consider myself to be an intermediate level paddler and find it very responsive. I chose to add foam knee pads and installed Yak Pads for my feet to enhance my own personal comfort level. There is plenty of rigging with no need to add any. I would sincerely recommend this boat to anyone who is passionate about paddling. These boats don't come cheap but they are well worth the investment to have the Sandy Martin design and craftsmanship!
