Trip Overview

Stave Lake, Mission BC
A usually calm lake but winds can pick up in the afternoons.
Large lake great for day trips. Several Fjords to explore and beaches to stop at.
Head North from Kiersely and explore the small island. Head east from the island to a beach goers picnic area. People have built a pole shelter, with a sink, picnic table, crib board and boaters leave kids toys and floats for others to use.
Continue north, then east and enter the main lake. Turn south into the west arm of Stave Lake. This is an old flooded logging area, lots of stumps above and below water, nice clear water. Depending on how late in the season the water level drops 20' or more and stumps rise 20 feet out of the water. Low water and tons of beaches and a few rustic shelters (pole frame, bring your own tarp.)
