Sturgeon River in Michigan

Trip Overview

We ran the Sturgeon River from Wolverine down to Burt Lake.

The night before we had a serious rain storm. Put in at Jaycees Park in Wolverine. Water was high and chocolate colored. Nice drop under first bridge downstream. We spotted a vehicle at Rhondo access with launches and also in case someone wants to bail. Turned out that was a very good idea. The added flow was a bit much for some.

The added flow was fun but also made sight seeing difficult. Take out easy at State park boat launch on Burt Lake.
Total trip time with lunch break: 7 hours.
