Spectacular Diablo Lake 360 - Snowy Peaks, Glacier Ice Blue Water, Beautiful Islands & Campgrounds

A self-supported trip created by PresenceVideography

Trip Overview

Had an amazing kayaking day-trip at Diablo Lake early July (before the current fire started with a lightning strike July 29th). I started at the Colonial Creek Boat Launch, paddled out to Thunder Point and explored the campground there, then around the beautiful islands at the center of the lake, with a rest stop / swim / lunch on a little island near the dam. On return, explored Buster Brown and Hidden Cove campgrounds, scouting for a future kayak camping trip. Truly incredible kayaking destination if you haven't yet been. World class mountain lake kayaking with day trip and overnight options. Snow capped peaks, glacial ice blue water, lots of beautiful islands, inlets, and campgrounds to explore. See the 360 panoramic video.
