Trip Overview
The Huron River runs through the recreation area providing great afternoon paddles for beginner and experienced paddler alike. The river is slow moving, shallow, and wide enough for a few paddlers to pass each other comfortably. It is a very good river for the beginner. There are many places to rent canoes and kayaks along the river, and if you tip over, it is shallow enough to stand up and get back in. I would recommend this to anybody who is beginning, or anyone who is taking small children or a beginner with them. The major expressway that goes by it is I-96. Take the Milford exit and follow the signs. Happy Paddling!
