Trip Overview
On Friday night my son and I camped at Goshen Pond, a primitive campsite with water and pit toilets. The put in is below the pond. Despite the many strainers and beaver dams, the Mullica is worth the trip. It's quiet and the terrain is varied.
We crossed Atsion Lake, which has a large recreation facility. You will need to portage LEFT of the dam, despite the advice in Robert Parnes' otherwise helpful guide.
From Goshen, it's a full day's paddle to camping at the Mullica River camp site, which also has water and toilets.
We took out at Pleasant Mills. You can leave a car there or at Bastso Village, a short walk away.
Be aware that local roads are made of sand. I made the mistake of thinking I could easily bike the 11 miles from Goshen pond to Pleasant Mills.
