Trip Overview

Paddled on Lake Mary (Mammoth Lakes Basin).

It was a calm, and partly cloudy day. We saw a bald eagle. Only the second time I've seen one in the wild.

This is a beautiful area.

Accommodations:

Campgrounds are numerous in the area.

Fees:

no permits are required if you launch from the sandy south side.

If you launch from the northside - Pohono marina; the launch fee is $15.

Directions:

From the town of Mammoth Lakes, follow California state Hwy 203 west. follow the signs to Twin Lakes, Lake Mary, Lake Mamie, and George Lake.
