Trip Overview

Paddled north from boat launch to streams on north end connecting to Bass and Pickerel Lakes. There's a small island just north of the boat launch where the water can be very shallow and choked with weeds. Best to avoid getting within about 200 yards of the island. Connecting streams are about 75-100 feet wide and easily navigable. Bass Lake is very small and Pickerel is about three times the size of Bass Lake but still fairly small. Wildlife seen: swans, ducks, white herons. Roads leading to boat launch are dirt but fairly well maintained. Plenty of parking right at the launch and at an auxiliary lot about 50 yards away. Boat launch is about 10-15 minutes north of the city of Milford.

Safety Notes

No hazards besides some shallow spots near the island on the south end of the lake.

Gear Notes

Dagger Axis 12.0 using Werner Camano paddle.

Conditions

Sunny, windy with very light chop.
