Trip Overview
Lovely little lakes in the heart of Jackson. Perfect place to learn to paddle- smooth water, interesting shady swampy ends with cypress trees, lots of wildlife and birds. No motor boats allowed; paddlers and trolling motors only. Felt very safe here as a lone paddler- regular drive-throughs by staff. For the more adventuresome, there is a boat ramp into the Pearl River that you can access at a reduced rate. Beware, you can only go upstream due to the lowhead dam .4 miles downstream.
