Harpeth River in Tennessee

Trip Overview

Put in at Hwy.100 River access point (river mile marker 62.3)

Took out at Harris street bridge which is last access point before Cumberland river watershed (river mile marker 22.8).

This is a great overnight float, however you will need to avg. 20 miles a day paddling which is the reason for the moderate rating on a such a slow river. Get focused for this 40+ mile trip; water level is key for this trip.

Also at Coley Davis Road Metro Parks is under construction and there is a huge log jam built up from last years (2010) floods. It is almost 100 yards long and stretches across river to both banks. It is completely impassible. You will have to portage this obstacle which is a battle due to steep muddy banks overnight gear and a heavy cooler as usual!
