Trip Overview

Put in at the Northwest end of the Causeway, just before the bridge to Honeymoon Island. - Paddled a little over a mile in open water (high tide) to one of the spoil islands (Horseshoe Island) Northwest of the causeway where the water becomes more sheltered. - Paddled solo. - Put in at 6:00 am just before sunrise. It was extremely foggy for the first couple hours until the sun broke through. - *NOTE TO SELF* - Invest in good (high visibility) lighting and fog horn!

Safety Notes

Didn't consider the potential dangers of the thick fog until the motor boaters started coming!! It was a little concerning. - I stayed close to the island to minimize my exposure to the traffic.
