Nearby is a public beach. The sandy shallow beach is quite popular on hot summer days. Wildlife includes waterfowl, herons, eagles, kingfishers, fish, freshwater mussels. Keep an eye out for rocks in the marginal areas of the lake. Watch out for water skiers and power boats in the middle of the lake. Perimeter paddle is a bit over 5.3 nautical miles.
