Description
At the bottom of the narrow Mabana Road is a public launch site.
There is no concrete ramp, strictly a dirt/gravel road down to the beach. This is best with at least a +5 foot tide. Less than that and the beach is soft sand.
In August 2021, according to the fellow that lives in the first house to the right of the ramp, when the tide is out, frequently, walking along the same path in the sand makes it more firm. He always follows the same path out to his white buoy and the sand along it is firm. So his tip is to walk to/toward his buoy and launch from near it.
There are 4 well signed public parking spots by the beach. If they are taken, after you unload your boat(s), you have to drive your car 100 yards back up the hill and park in the grassy parking area above Mabana Road.
There are no restrooms and no privacy at the launch area. Take care of business before you arrive.
