Kiersley Creek Campground

Stave Lake

Description

9 km up the forest service road. Campground is on right. So far FREE day use but that may change. From the "boat" launch you can cross over to the far side to beaches, travel up or down the west arm of Stave. A small island to visit and picnic on.
Travel North, go around the narrows and explore the east arm, lots of submerged trees from the logging days before the river was damned.
The west arm is actually the old river bed flooded. The actual lake originally didn't start until after you head north and go through the narrows.
The east arm was marshland and forest.

The beaches can be from 3' wide to 40' depending on the water levels. Late Aug-Oct the level gets quite low and lots of beaches available.
