I recently sold my 2006 Hobie Outback and bought a 2015 Hobie Revo 11. I was initially thinking of doing this as the Revo 11 is so much lighter than the Outback and easier to get onto our Crosstrek roof. My only concern was I had read the the Revo is tippy for some people. Knowing this, I set the seat on the lowest setting (front and back) and took my first test ride. (FWIW, I'm 155lbs and 5'9"). How does it compare to the Outback? Yes, it's not like I can jump around on the deck, but is it tippy? Not to me (or my wife). My sense is that the people who comment about it's tippy nature haven't been in many different boats/kayaks/canoes. I think every canoe I've ever been in felt tippier than the Revo 11. It's fast, nimble and right-sized for me. The Outback always felt like it was designed for someone bigger than me.
